'shout abuse', the pearl clutchers won't like that.No
But then I don’t sing at them either, or shout abuse or encouragement at the actors (apart from at Rocky Horror Picture Show maybe)

Doesn't safe standing use rail seats providing the opportunity to still sit?

In this litigious world we live in, I'm surprised that clubs haven't put actual standing areas in rather than tolerating it in seated areas, which has to be the worst of all worlds and potentially far more expensive.
Where I see an issue is, if they have a safe standing area (how ****ing nannyfied does that sound) then there'll be less tolerance for people standing in other areas.
As we have found to our cost, despite what people claimed, forcing people to move is not a good idea, so the locations will be important.
Would you stand at the cinema or the theatre? I don’t see what the big appeal is.
A group of fans singing in West Upper would definitely be heard. A small group made attempts to get things going on Saturday in West Upper. A pity more don’t do the same. No doubt the West Upper Stand rep will be complaining.
Surely if you were going to do it you would have some kind of trial
probably a section of the North Stand
Seems to work well at other grounds but who would pay for it ?
No, not for me, spend the money elsewhere.
Do we have a problem with standing these days? It seems like those that want to stand have congregated in the same areas anyway so it’s not an issue.
The only reason for me is if you put it in areas to encourage more standing and improve the atmosphere, but that’s going to be expensive and in all likelihood wouldn’t work anyway.
No

I’ve never been in a safe standing area where the seats are locked closed. Where does this happen? In reality they are locked in position and can’t be folded down.
Isn't this the case why Rovers are now a more vibrant club than Hull, standing in the East Stand at Craven Park?

That’s what I thought and what I have observed. It would be bizarre to make a seat available then prevent you from sitting on it at half time!Pretty sure you’re not allowed to lock them in the UK, it reduces the width between the seat and the row in front breaching access regulations, I believe there’s different rules on the continent.
And what would you spend the money on instead? Even more stewards, did you see the ridiculous over stewarding on Saturday, to kill the atmosphere even more? Trays on the seats so people can spend more time eating?
Lots of places The place with the most of them, Dortmund, for a start.I’ve never been in a safe standing area where the seats are locked closed. Where does this happen?
If you went to games you would. Are all those clubs with standing areas wrong?

Yes, I do. And did.
