Nonono - Botman was the key to that defence, and our defence hasn't been the same since he was injured.

He was very good for one season, but the whole team played well that season - Bruno, Joelinton, Botman, Isak, Murphy, Schar etc.

Livramento has far more pace, is stronger and more skillful, he offers more.

He had a good season a few years back and then just completely fell apart and has been a shadow of his former self. If any other player went on a run like Trippier did, in which he cost us like 8 goals they would be absolutely slaughtered, but Trippier got many a free pass from fans.

I think he's overrated by some on here.

He was the reason we went out the league cup quarters at the last moment last year, and he nearly left in the last 2 windows and everyone was fine with it.

One very good season, and some good games in the league cup this season, but any talk of best right back ever is way off.

He's not exactly got to beat any world beaters to be our best right back. Most of our right backs have been completely ****e. Trippier on his day is our best right by Miles imo.

He had a bad run of games, but the entire defence did without Botman and a Burn having to play LB.

    This for me.

I'm struggling to think of a better right back in the last 30odd years so easily him for me.

Warren Barton, Barry vennison may have issues with this statement. Debuchy and jaanmat - the ****s they are definitely have issues with this.

Hard to judge him on the first season cos he was barely there.

Second season he was excellent with Botman in defence, the next season he was mostly awful without Botman. Since then he's been displaced by Livramento.

Barton was better overall for us, we didn't have the best CBs with Barton, certainly no one of Botman's class. Plus Livramento has been mostly excellent, with no big downturns in form like Trippier.

Agree with first, and the second was very underrated.

Debuchy has decent spells but wasn't all that, we did well to cash in. Wall puncher had too much an attitude problem.

I’d have venison ahead of trippier now, and he must be hitting late 50’s if not 60’s <laugh>

What is your issue with Beresford? He was arguably player of the season 92-93 and played well for a long period in the Prem.
