Livarmento will be top of this list if he stays 5/6 years and wins a few more pots.

So you could say he is already the best RB we've seen at the club - hasn't been yet but will be.

Using that reasoning you could also say that Longstaff could be the best midfielder then.

And Jacob Murphy scored in the semi vs Arsenal so that must mean...

    No, sorry, I can't do it. I just can't.

Trips has been great for us, leading from the front. We had him at the end of a career that saw him win the Spanish la liga with Atletico and one of only 3 English men ever to score a goal in a World Cup Semi Final.
Yes he’s lost a bit of pace and made a couple of mistakes but his crossing and corner kicks in the Final were immense, putting it on BDB’s head every time.
He may not be the best ever but he is certainly up there with them, he will probably move on in the summer but he goes with my respect!

Pistons did play left back in the Cup Final v Arsenal, Dalglish dropped Stevie Watson and played Pistone at RB, after about 15 mins Pires ran straight past him and stuck it in the net!

Who yet again set up a goal for Isak but in a Final this time. He’s having one hell of a season, that’s for sure.

I wasn't able to account for anyone pre-1990 as the question was about who we have seen in the shirt so Nattrass and Craig aren't in the equation for me.

Overall impact as a signing, a leader, a statement of intent and then to put in an excellent performance in the final. It's a low bar but best in the past 35 years? Yes.

Well Livramento is obviously better, hence why he displaced Tripps ok the team.

Tripps has done a great job with us, especially in the season when we finished 4th....his lowest point was giving the ball away Vs Chelsea resulting in us being knocked out the cup last season, but he'll be leaving in a spectacular way this season being a major part of our first proper trophy win in 70 years. A huge high towards the end of his career.

One of the best players I've seen at NUFC in his prime.

But he is no longer prime Trips hence that comment. Tino > Trips at the same stage of career.

Edit: This doesn't mean Tino will be better than Trippier was in his prime though.

Yes. Tripps in his prime is the best right back I have seen at the club.

    Think someone mentioned Debuchy
Think he was the better right back for us. Trippier is the better man off the pitch though

Nah, Tripps was only really very good for one season, ie 2022-23. He was good when he first arrived but got injured very quickly, 2023-24 was disappointing for him, and Livramento has completely taken him out of the team now.

Tripps was great at corners and free kicks, but Livramento offers far more in terms of pace, work rate and attacking.

Plus we've only seen the end of Tripp's career, Livramento has gone from strength to strength and is still only 22, has cemented has place in the team and got into the England squad. Tripps has been a very good servant for us, and the league cup win is awesome for him towards the end of his career, but Tino is going to offer more.

Prime Tripps = Captain of best defence in league and was also one of the top creative players that season.

most of 23/24 he was off form and still got an almost 1/2 attacking return to start ratio.

Prime tripps was our best player, if only for 1.5 years or so. But he was already in his 30's so aging.

Tino is no where near the attacking threat Tripps was. Defensively is debatable.
