Apparently, there's lots of interest in Dylan Lawlor <laugh>

Could be an indicator of our ambition if we do let him go?

Hhhmmmm, best wait to see if we survive in the Championship as that will determine the level of player we can sign or who will want to sign for us.

The so called pundits (of doom and gloom) and computer generated final league positions are all pointing us in a downward direction.

The pundits (joke) are also saying which players will leave if we drop, e.g. Robinson even though he has signed a contract extension.

Interest in Troy Perrett as well. Villa I think were quoted. Even though he has no league appearances to his name. One cup sub appearance I think.

    I was wondering that.

He's got it right recently bringing in Salech, Mannsverk and Alves, but there's an awful lot previous stuff that tends to get brushed under the carpet.

Add in the disruption that comes with someone having their head turned and it might have been better if he'd gone.
It said it was a Sporting Director role he was being touted for at Derby. Would that have made him Eustace's boss? If so, odd that Eustace could block the move!

Perhaps he's got some sort of veto in his contract?

Either that or Derby were ****ting themselves that he'd walk - and given their perilous position in the table, that's the last thing they'd want.

Now that Ralls has been ruled out for the season surely that’ll be it for him here?

Ah but will it as we’ll likely need an experienced midfielder in league 1 and as nobody will want him I wouldn’t be surprised if he was kept on and then slip into a coaching role for further down the line.

I suppose it's time to start discussing who we want out during the Summer window.

Straight off the top of my head and without due considerations:

Time for NG to move on while we still have the chance of getting some dosh for him.

    Same for Colwill R.

Doubt we'll get anything for Willock, but he should go anyway.

    Bye bye Goutas?

    More to follow no doubt.

It's a tough call. We have developed a reputation for making players worse.
Willock was the star player for QPR. We have a number of players with PL and international experience.
Whether the under performance of individuals is down to the player, the style of football (wish we had one) or the coaching is open for debate.
There are a few that need moving on purely on a financial basis. Some need to be considered for departure due to attitude / application.
Others need more thought based on how they fit into a game plan, though we need a manager in place to answer that.
    Not an easy one.

As we've said through the season. Define a game plan. Square pegs in square holes.
    Fit within a budget.

I'd shape our game plan around Salech, Simic, Davies and Ashford, though whether a £3M striker will stay in Div 1, I don't know.

I suppose the big question is are the current players that poor, or is it the management of them? It's a bit of both I suppose, but poor game management during the 90 has taken it's toll.

If your talking about individual effort and committment, then 10 Andy Rinomohtas on the pitch (I don't think he can play in goal) would have kept us up. On the other hand we wouldn't have won anything either but at least we'd still be a Championship club next season.

It's a balance between effective management and individual player skill zones - and we've got it all wrong. Players finding it difficult being asked to play outside of their limited comfort zone, and others when picked give the impression they couldn't care less.

It needs a shake up, but one thing I wouldn't have said a few weeks back when staying in the Championship looked positive. I'd sign up Rallsy right now - he's just the sort of club captain we'll need in League One. If we'd have retained Championship status, it would have been time for him to move on.

It's finding the balance between destruction and creation. A 6 as a 6 and an 8 as an 8.
In a limited, but structured gameplay, a 6 just wins the ball and gives it to the 8, 10 or a winger then gets in position for the next time the oposition have the ball. The same for the two CBs. The 8s job is to be available to receive a pass and move the ball forwards
An over simplification I know, but it provides structure.
On paper, we have (had) players to do this, but we found a round hole to put the square pegs into. Then we blame the player.
If we want to sign a player, let him do what he's good at. If we want a different type of player, don't sign him, however good he is at what he does (e.g. Siopis). Watching him play for us and in his international games was chalk and cheese.
If you're going to play Rubin, 8 or 10. Not out wide. Willock is not a 10.
We did it so many times in the season, it made my p!$$ boil.
Managers of top players don't play them out of position (Milner was a huge exception), though they would be more capable of adapting. As you come down the leagues, play to a players strengths.
There are two options, decide on a style and pick players to execute that. OR, pick a player and adapt your style to them.

I debated this year's ago when Keegan was England manager. He wanted to play with a back 5 but kept picking Adams, who looked lost. It should either have been a back 5 without Adams, or Adams in a back 4.
What chance do average players have?

OK, we know there are exceptions, with some in our squad over the years, but in general, square pegs, square holes.

Ramsey said he is not finished as a player,i just hope it is not with this club, the money he has earned for what he has done on the pitch is a joke.i did say in a early post that if he plays for us he should be on a pay to play, and none of this stupid money we have been paying him,and as a manager no way ,we need someone with experience and not another old codger boosting their pension.

How much does he earn with us? I'm probably looking in the wrong places but "estimates" are wide ranging. Those coming up with the estimates are quick to point out that they are just that as no official figure is available.
