Not much he can do about the replies.

The deaths of under-10s are an even gender split while deaths of 13-17s are highly skewed towards males. In a society which is 50% under 18 it’s not exactly a stretch to suggest a lot of teenage boys are recruited.

There’s evaluation of the evaluation to be done I’m sure. It’s a lot of hypotheses based on what is known and we’ll never have an exact death number as there’s always natural deaths, people killed by Hamas, unnatural deaths not because of Israel, deaths that are technically natural but could be argued are due to Israel etc.

But it’s a lot more useful than just “X people have died” and the resulting stomping feet in middle-class Bedfordshire.

It’s quoting Hamas’ figures, Foss.

There's not a lot he can do about the replies granted, but it gives you an indication of his audience. There's quite a lot he can do about labelling the UN as Anti-Semitic and there's also quite a lot he can do not to manipulate the data to claim that EVERY male death of combatant age is thus a combatant and then arrive at a 1:1 kill ratio.

Dunno in what world 74% civilian death rate is impressive

but I note your use of the word ‘war’ in commas, as it’s never been a war, it’s simply an assault.
If one side bases itself among the civilian population you inevitably ger an increse in civilian deaths particularly when the other side has a massive tech advantage they can use to minimise their casualties i.e. instead of a ground assault you just attack using aerial wespons

The UN is dodgy as **** when it comes to Hamas and have done remarkably little for the hostages.

I’m not saying it’s perfect dissertation-type analysis but it’s better than pointless headline numbers.

Any tweet from anyone with a reasonable following on anything to do with Israel or Palestine gets some absolutely mental replies. That’s just Twitter.

That’ll be the 1:1 then.

Honours degree in ethnic cleansing <diva>

That would be scraping a Desmond.

I think I got 66% in the end which was disappointing as I missed the 3-2 Aguero game to revise for my final exam the next day and could have sacked it off and scraped the 60.

The headline figures aren’t just plucked out of thin air though. They come from reliable sources on the ground.

There’s always going to be dispute about the actual figures. But your man claiming that every male death of combatant age is a Hamas soldier is plainly skewed to ****.

Agree about twitter though, it’s a ****ing cess pit.

Unlike you I never dismiss anything ... but will always weigh the credibility of my 'trusted source' by factors of vested interest and independence ...

... and I have never offered one iota of support, or sympathy for Hammas - that's just you fapping and attempting to throw mud to fit your narrow narrative ... and your constant attempts to besmirch anybody showing criticism of the IDF and / or an Israeli regime that has shown a total disregard for the sanctity of life for non-combatants is both transparent and disappointing ... you have been both unwilling and unable to have a 'grown-up' discussion about the 'Palestinians' because of your hatred and bigotry mixed with a fair dollop of arrogance... in contrast to CK, whose views I may not wholly agree with but who provides a rational basis for them that invites a sensible debate / conversation..

Do you have any sadness or sympathy for the thousands of dead Palestinian women and children that have died in Gaza in this conflict? ... if your answer is 'no' perhaps you could enlighten everyone with your 'grown-up' rationale for your response?

There should be sadness and sympathy, you are right.

But there should also be a sense of relief if indeed it is true that fewer civilians died than previously assumed. Nothing to do with which 'side' a person supports or opposes. Fewer innocent deaths = a good thing. It's very simple.

I've noticed a worrying trend (not necessarily on here although some are very close to it) to want more civilian deaths, so that the levels of criticism against Israel can increase. This is typical of the school of thought that uses Palestinians as pawns to be manipulated towards a political outcome, i.e. the same ideology as Hamas.
