It is fantastic drinking over there, the beer has to be drunk like tea and respected. The last time I was over there was for the St Truiden game in 2016, and had a fantastic 3 days there, came back with about 6 glasses as well to add to my collection. What has been the highest strength beer you have had so far?
Well done @Smudger603 for reopening this thread In a Spoons I'd always go for a Punk IPA, a lot of body and a subtle kick. Over here 99.9% of the time you can only get 600ml bottled lagers, they are like dishwater. Spaten and Bohemia are acceptable though. Caipioska is fantastic, vodka n orange goes down the hatch well.
Does anyone else think that Moretti is now just horrible? 15 years ago it was a fabulous lager and now I can’t stand it. Amstel is now the only lager that makes the current wife seem pleasant
I'm no expert - a pint of Stella or a bottle of Grolsch keeps me happy. I used to like Carling Premier, a lager they did when they sponsored the Premiership (I think we were still in it back then!). But I guess that brew has long since gone out of print, so to speak.
The Moretti with sea salt is very drinkable- comes in a bottle with a blue label on it - but I don’t drink the other stuff - Hurlimann is my choice of lager
A mate I used to go to the football with regularly drank Tennent's Super. I wouldn't clean my drains with that
