Weren’t all our bids ‘loans with obligation if promoted’ ?
We went straight up for Cannon. We dont have the money to buy lots expensive players now. I think the lad you quote has missed a fair few points when making his claim tbh.

There are levels of risk associated with tfrs. Danns is not worth worrying about, it was so late in the day getting anyone else in was not possible and there may well have been a chance he would be fit by last 5 games. Plus, my guess is, the commitment we made was financially sensible and perhaps gives us 1st choice next season for a loan. Samed and Poveda both look poor deals, but I can at least see why he wanted Samed.

The likes of Mepham and Isidor have had significant impacts. Le Fee might still. In those 3 alone we have fished in a different pond to previous, and done well. At the tims a free for Browne looked very good business. We are attracting players, that is the big news here, some will work, some may not. Cant be agreeing our tfelr business has been poor, particularly when you look at how we play the long game with some puchases - Mayenda. Those you say we are paying good money to make decisions are getting more right than wrong.

Some fair points mate. I do think we lack some depth and those players signed have meant that Roberts essential has to play every game. Same with Neil and Jobe. We have no cover at full back and this was highlighted as a risk in Jan. Didn't get addressed. Going to be interesting the last bunch of games.

Jobe remains on the pitch regardless.

Sorry but the club are running the club the way they want the club running ...

... shouting 'spend spend spend' won't change a thing although, hopefully, people will eventually lose their voice.

Signing everyone we were linked with might have made no difference whatsoever.

As FellTop says we can't just keep bidding more, for the likes of Cannon, who didn't show any signs of wanting to come.

He wouldn't come to sit of the bench behind Mayenda in any case ...

... and I'd rather Mayenda continues to learn on the pitch and become better.

The accounts are out, the club is progressing well and players are improving individually.

Le Bris seems to be doing things the way the club expect so those hoping for a change will probably be disappointed.

People are often pulled up for getting excited, which I thought was the point, and told not to get carried away.

But a few bad results and 'everything is falling to pieces', we'll lose in the playoffs, the manager is on borrowed time and just Speakman's puppet.

The reality is that the club is progressing and we have a chance of PL football ...

... just as Leeds, Burnley and Sheff Utd have a chance but may be heading for another season in this league.

The progress isn't quick enough for some and the same old demands come out ... spend, spend and keep spending.
It’s quick enough for me mate<ok>

Yep..i'm more than happy the way the club are run and happy with where we are right now. But I don't sugar coat what happened yesterday, it was simply awful, no fight, no energy and no ideas. I'm ok with having a go at games in isolation, but the bigger picture as far as the club is concerned...we are doing more than ok

And how many games has cannon played for Utd and not scored.
Doesn't really matter when Campbell is playing as well as he is and they have the parachute money to chuck around. They'll probably sell him for 7m to another championship club if they go up.

I think there is no doubt things have improved. Perhaps we have just got frustrated because of the years of lack of success and a good start raised hopes.

I do think if there is something to look at is the signing of players not fit. We have had a few over the last windows and I agree it is not about spend spend spend but you still need players who can impact. Samad,Poveda, Pembele etc have had virtually no impact. Others have appeared injury prone and desperately unlucky. The impact of this is that your best players are being run ragged or even not under pressure. This is something to look at and consider.

100%. We have improved but tis definitely something to look at. Can not keep signing injured players. We need all the squad depth we can get.

My only issue with Jan is the lack of a full back signing, probably a right back in hindsight. Simply because it would be beneficial to look for a young right back deputy. Right wing I expect they hoped Poveda would be back. Midfield is more than stacked and upfront was bad luck in terms of Danns' being injured. At the same time we have Abdullahi back, even if hes then gotten another knock.

We've fell lucky with Hume's fitness.

I may be naive but I believe all of these things will be apparent to the club and part of a constant analysis.

The club are clearly signing players they believe will overcome a loss of form, an injury or whatever.

We took chances with Isidor, Mayenda, Mundle, Jobe, Ballard, Cirkin, Hume and they've all paid off to one degree or another, I still believe Samed will become an important player as will Browne. The money 'wasted' on Poveda, or whoever' is more than made up by the income from signing/selling Clarke.

I'm not sure why supporters get so wound up by players coming in and not being 'first team ready' tbh. It's just like the academy players who may or may not end up being first team starters. Whatever the case it's the club's business and, while we all have our opinions on this player or that one, the club will do what they believe is right and take chances with signings.

In my opinion buying Championship level players is false economy.

I understand it is more loan players with injury record. I just feel with a smaller squad we do need some depth and hopefully this doesn't effect us at the business end and come May we have a hell of a party
