Nah. Clearly made double contact.
Really wasn't clear to me at least. So unfortunate.

Against PSG? Sure! And come on Arsenal v Real!I think we can surely all agree though, Up the Villa!

Clearly - when viewed in from 7 angles and at one quarter speed. No player, ref or fan made an issue of it. Most of them didnt seem to know it had even been scrubbed.
Yes because the penalty was illegal. That is what VAR was brought in for.If it hadn't been given/looked at, would Real have complained about it? I think no.

His standing foot was partially in front of the ball when he struck it - so the ball had to have hit it. Clear and obvious doesn't come into this as it's a factual thing - the penalty has to be disallowed with any sort of double contact.I'm just watching the replays on MOTD - still not seeing it for definite. What it absolutely isn't is a 'clear and obvious error'.
Yes it is factual, as he either did or did not hit it with both feet, but it still isn't clear and obvious whether that actually happened. I have seen countless replays from multiple angles, full speed and slow motion... and I'm still not sure! His standing foot was partially in front of the ball when he struck it - so the ball had to have hit it. This is not what VAR was intended for.
Wow. Gotta feel for Alvarez. Madrid always find a way.
Phew!!! Good win for Athletic tonight to go through 4-3 on aggregate. Hope they go all the way and win the Europa League just to show the rest that with proper investment in local talent, a club does not need to waste millions on some chancer. Perhaps Southampton could make better use of their youth system as many purchases bought in the past half dozen years have been rather underwhelming, I would say.
Will he stay if Athletic win this competition and secure a place in the CL?Having kept hold of Nico Williams so long has helped!

He wants to move to Barca!!I can't see it. That 50m release clause - surely someone (Arsenal/City) have to go for it?
