**** game. Good goals by Bournemouth and shambolic performance again...lucky goal and ridiculous keeping saved us.
Take out the chances we literally gifted them and I think even result. Cut out the individual errors, most of which were inexcusable and should win on Thursday.
Don't they practice passing in training - to their own players? Gave the ball away time and time and time again. Could easily have lost that 4.0. Bournemouth - 2.0 up and they f&cked it up.
I just don’t think we were as bad as people make out. Most of what Bournemouth created came from Romero who we know just doesn’t care and Porro who is asked to do way too much in Ange’s system without a proper good DM. Just the Final ball was letting us down going forwards. Lost count of the Amount of times Porro, Bentancur, odobert and Johnson got into good positions in the first half and either chose the wrong option or played a horrendous pass when they chose the right one.
I think that's a bit optimistic tbh. Bournemouth created plenty of chances themselves, hit the post and had a goal disallowed. They tore holes in our defence and played with more energy and dynamism. Only one side thinks they 'got away with one's today...and it wasn't them.
Have to be pleased with that, after 65 mins it was looking like a sure defeat. Players will hopefully use the the last 25 mins for the game on Thursday.
2-2 after being 2-0 with less than half hour to go. Have to take the positives and hope (no matter how unlikely) they use that for Thursday which is a season defining game
Hope is all that's left to us, because logically, we're a million miles off winning enough games to win the EL...a million miles.
I guess from 2-0 down with 25 minutes to go a 2-2 draw is a good result, but they still looked more likely win after the equaliser. Bergvall made a huge difference and Son and Maddison had some positives too but overall it was still pretty lacklustre and AZ will fancy their chances of getting out with the draw they need on Thursday.
Our performances in general have been like watching paint dry for god knows how long now. And with nothing to play for in the PL, that’s not going to change. Fingers crossed all efforts are going into the EL now and the manager and players can give something back to the fans, after what has been an awful, boring season with no improvement. If we lose on Thursday, surely Ange has to go, as even being managed by Mason for 10 matches can’t be this bloody mundane?
That game really summed up the biggest issue with Ange: the players believe in him, and he is bloody good at convincing players that they want to join - but for as much of an asset he is off the pitch, he isn't when it comes to being on the pitch He'd be ideal as a Peter Taylor for us, but that would require we hire a Brian Clough
One thing that does have to be said: while both our goals were lucky, their second goal was even luckier And given how often we haven't had the right bounce or deflection or whatever this season, a little fortune is long overdue ...not that we should be relying on a little good fortune, mind
I agree but go out on Thursday and that’s season over and nothing left to play for at all. Which is depressing considering it will only be mid March.
Injuries are definitely a valid excuse, but I personally don't think he's actually that good. He does lots of things well, but nothing superbly (bit like most of our midfielders tbh) and as a result, rarely imposes himself on games. Ultimately, if a huge club easily parts company with a relatively experienced player, that's usually a red flag that the player isn't all that, or the huge club wouldn't give them up so easily. The only exception I can think to this was when we signed Rafa from Real, albeit they'd just made Kaka the second most expensive player of all time, so their willingness to lose Rafa is more understandable.
Wholeheartedly believe he wouldn’t be any worse. I’d have made that change weeks back, though I expect him to remain in charge until the summer regardless of what happens Thursday… …Unfortunately.
PSR has made that a regular occurrence in the last 10-15 years, at least when China or Saudi Arabia aren't furnishing a club's bottom line Los Ladrones let Ozil join the Bottlers because they just made Gareth Bale the most expensive player ever Barca let Sanchez join the Bottlers because they just paid through the nose for Suarez Cancelo joined the Mansourites as Juve paid through the nose for de Ligt Bentancur and Kulusevski joined us as Juve had their trousers taken down for Vlahovic PSG let an absurd number of good players leave to offset the GDP of a western European nation on Neymar and Mbappe Bayern let Thiago Alcantra join Saltypool to offset Leroy Sane Bayern sold Lucas Hernandez to PSG and sent Sadio Mane to the oilfields to balance Harry Kane's transfer fee Bayern tried not to laugh when selling De Ligt to Man Utd to pay down Olise and Palhinha The real amazing thing is just how often De Ligt is involved in PSR Jenga: Juve and Bayern were both moving players out to balance the books, then moved him on to balance the books to sign players within a couple of years
