If you analyse both games we took 6 points off them easier than the 6 we got off Luton, at least they put us under periods of pressure at their place whereas Wednesday had fleeting moments and once it went 1-2 I wasn't worried at all.
If Windass is your star striker then I'd be worried....to think we were allegedly linked to Ugbo? (spelling) as a striker option which is quite frightening.

There’s half a dozen strikers we were linked with who’ve probably scored less, as a whole, than Isidor has scored on his own …

… sometimes you just have to accept what we have, not keep bringing in more and more players.

The same ones screaming for more and more players would also be the ones at the end of the season screaming to get rid of the dead wood. Then start again, rinse and repeat.
We just have to accept that some people are just not happy, no matter what happens.

True, there was lots of talk about ‘a complete clear out’ at the end of last season …

… hasn’t turned out so bad without one.

Said this to my son end of last season. The players in general weren’t the issue. They were, to use the Nuremberg defence, only following orders. Now we have a coaching staff who is encouraging them in part, to work it out for themselves. And even if that approach doesn’t get us an automatic promotion spot it won’t be for the lack of effort by anyone at the club.

RIGGY PRAISES JOBE

Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham were both recognised at the North East Football Writers Association Awards on Sunday night, with the pair sharing the Young Player of the Year award. Rigg was asked about his fellow teenager on the night and admitted that he is sometimes left "star-struck" by his midfield partner.

JOINT AWARD WINNERS

“It's always good to get noticed for your accomplishments over the season. It is a prestigious award, so I am very happy and I'm also happy to win it alongside a fellow team mate as well.”

SAFC TRUST THE YOUTH

“It's great. Honestly, you've seen it through the years. There are loads of come-ups such as Dan [Neil], Patto [Anthony Patterson] and obviously us two next. I think it says a lot about the club and where we want to go.”

JOBE IS UNREAL

“He's been unreal, to be honest. I think he's improved so much over the last couple of years. Sometimes you get star-struck by him, just the things he does week in, week out, day in, day out. I think if he does maximise how good he is day in, day out, then he can go right to the very top.”

THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT

“It's hard to reflect because there's always another game in the Championship. I think you've just got to push it to one side and try and hit the next target. The lads have helped us reach this target and mainly helped us win this award, due to them being very supportive as soon as I came up, and there's a few names I could name - like I said, Dan, Luke O’Nien - but the staff have played a big part in it as well. I'd like to thank everyone, to be honest, and hopefully we can kick on.”

PROMOTION RACE

“I think we are so confident that we can get in that race. I know that we've hit a patch, but I think the team that we've got, we want to win every game. I think that's crucial coming towards the back end of the season. I think we've just got to put it all out there and see what we can do.”

A Sheff Wed supporter with one joke, that he keeps repeating, believes he's a reet character <doh>

No wonder regional newspapers are dying out when they spend so much time and effort on absolute shyte.

'A disgruntled Sheffield Wednesday supporter has told The Star he will ‘stop at nothing’ to get the signed onion he feels he is owed by Sunderland AFC.'
