Mate we were awful ... didn't have a shot first half, apart from a free-kick smacked into the wall ... second half not much better until he went gung ho with 4 mins to play ...
I guess ... but the view was fine ... when I watched us at the Emirates back in the title year our seats were so high that the curving roof blocked off the opposite corner of the pitch ... who ever designed that must have been pissed ...
Would add that it was also pretty good in terms of exiting - we walked up to Hackney Wick got tube to Highbury & Islington then on to King's Cross / St Pancras...
Nah only driven past but I'm not having that it's worse seeing as it's a purpose built football ground.
Fair. Newport isn’t but I still quite liked it. The sheer scale and awfulness at the same time does make this West Ham ground bad. Extra points removed for leaving Upton Park for that. I basically hate any ground built since about 1987.
Yeah I quite liked Newport as well to be fair. Helped that we got our biggest ever away win there. But yeah new grounds are largely ****e.
It’s disgusting they’ve put Palace v Millwall at tomorrow lunchtime when it was perfect for the Friday night slot. Villa v Cardiff. Meh.
Not sure whether they are purposefully there, but we had safe standing rails in the upper tier so was good to stand throughout ... as I said - better view than my 'Emirates experience' ...
Don't disagree with your last point ... but the game has changed ... I've done just about all the old top tier grounds in my time, including The Boleyn and loved Filbert St ... didn't want us to move ... Best atmosphere in the new grounds tends to come from the away sections as the vocal home support is scattered around the stadium ...
