Often a new manager with a slightly different approach can turn an average team into a good one or a good team into a very good one which is why managers jobs are so precarious these day, everyone is looking for success Sometimes tho a new manager can turn a reasonable team into a relegated one
This applies all top four leagues, perfect example was Birmingham last season and Derby the season before
I think there’s more prestige to the Europey now it’s not a second prize for teams too **** to progress in the ‘Champions’ League. The Conference League was a reasonable idea but shouldn’t be open to the top five leagues IMO or only for clubs who haven’t been in European competition for a certain amount of time. Make the European Cup for champions only. Bring back the Cup Winners’ Cup. Bring back the Anglo-Italian Cup. Vote Reform. Ban avocados etc.
That pleb was a QPR fan until his need for Twitter clout made him diehard Arsenal. You’d ****ing love it if you won it.
Funny how Arsenal fans have suddenly decided this season is the weakest/****test PL ever when just a few days they were talking about how it’s in their hands
I think at the top it probably is the weakest since Lesta won it. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable view. City have blown up, Chelsea woeful so it was Arsenal’s chance and they aren’t as good as last year. If they were they’d probably be where Liverpool are. The rung below that is relatively strong. Forest, Bornmuff, B-town etc. so it’s a league with a lot of good teams and no really great ones and one that’s clearly a fair bit better than the rest. Pool are on course for 90 points which is clearly very good without being elite by the standards set in recent years. About par for winning the league but not for winning it at a canter. Then the worst teams are as **** or more **** than most years.
...indeed ... he's brought in one player of his own ' he's inherited a crock of ****e ... that's the reality...
Yup ... we only won it because everybody else was weak ... only losing 3 games and finishing 10 points clear of the team in second ... The reality is that we had an exceptional 'team' and an exceptional manager who knew how to get the best out of them ... in their pomp, Vardy, Mahrez and Kante would have been contenders for a place in any team that has ever won the PL ... Mahrez went on to win it 3 or 4 times and Kante 3 ... but when they were with Leicester, it was just a perfect storm ... grow up.
the PL was at it's weakest before this year in the year that we won it? It was arguably weaker as a collective in the years when only United or Arsenal could possibly win it ...
I said at the top it was. Second got well under two points per game which must be quite rare. It was only nine years ago so not exactly a huge sample. It wasn’t a criticism of Lesta but you’ve take it as one anyway.
