Spoken by the Master of Sweeping Generalisations',thank Gawd for the perfect Males eh.
Thanks for the 'contribution'- in a Cave ?

And the 3 'likers' should stand in a corner !

I did not interpret themaclad's comment as a general statement about female commentators, but I thought that he/she was referring to the two female commentators on the Sky television coverage of the Watford-Luton game.

I listened to the commentary and watched the game on Sky. Did you, oldnickhornet? It is only my opinion, but I thought that their commentary was really poor. There are some very good female commentators and pundits, but - sadly - I would not yet include these two commentators.

They were abysmal - and sent me scurrying to look for an alternative stream. Even the one I found with Luton-supporting commentators was preferable.

Very strange game almost surreal, we had enough chances to get rid of our goal average deficit but almost gave them chances to at least force a draw, we need to just be more consistent and not give cheap possession away which cost us dearly against Leeds

Morris injured three of our defenders, not too seriously I hope but Pollock and Andrews sorted him out in the end and a surprise to most on here Ince was Man of the Match

We are back in the mix and need to stay there now

Well suppose his remark could be taken two ways.I'm much too poor(and unwilling) to support Mr Murdoch but did save up £2.50 to listen.on I Follow,as I do for some other matches
Will never get the 'local rivalry' bit though ,17 plus miles apart ,not even in the same County and cant see that Luton should be of any consequence to WFC but seems people are prepared to risk their blood pressure over the two clubs. Surely enough aggravation in the world right now to fret over this.
Wouild not have liked to be there in the apparent atmosphere ,just put me down as a potential Woke Candidate

Ince man of the match?? To quote Victor Meldew "I don't believe it!!"

Who on earth chose him - his dad?

I thought that Ince probably had his best game for Watford. His role was to nullify the impact of Doughty and he did that very well.

I hope that oldfrenchhorn is feeling better and was able to follow and enjoy the performance and the result today.

Rupert Murdoch sold Sky in 2018. However, I do dislike the way that Sky has changed football. The obscene amounts of money which have been poured into the Premier League and the way that Sky dictates the dates and times for fixtures (with scant regard for the supporters).

I was surprised to see him in the team but he did play well.

Mind you maybe helped by the poor opposition.

Didn't hear the commentary team so cannot comment but sometimes we have seen male commentators criticised too.

Maybe the big question should be why wasn't this on the main sky channel with the "big match" commentary team and pundits.

Personally I would have given it to someone I've been fairly critical of recently - Kayembe. He's had a habit of drifting in and out of games and being guilty of sloppy passing a lot, but today I thought he was spot on. Abankwah wasn't too far behind him too.

First half was all about winning the game.
Second half was all about managing the result.
TC knew he/we had to win this.
Pragmatic and practical, but not necessarily fun to watch. Never in danger, though I let my displeasure known!
Ince motm? Possibly not, but a solid performance all round. Referee seems to have had a good one, too.
As for "them"? 0-2 and bottom. Marvellous!
