And coincidentally we play Wolves next.

How will this headline impact him? Destabilize him, or make him try harder to impress Slot?

fresh from getting splinters watching our FA cup run from the bench jame norris has been sent to Shelbourne on loan in the league of ireland. apparently managed by damien duff.

Even if this is true (!), here's how this will pan out: we'll 'monitor' him and FSG-friendly gonks like Pearce will drop multiple stories (just like this one) that we're 'interested'.

Ultimately though, he'll go to London because they will offer more, and we'll pull out of the bidding around the £80m, citing that he doesn't meet all our data metrics or some other such ****e. Ditto Cunha. We'll still sell Diaz and Darwin though, and we'll claim we have a super-duper, really huge 'war chest' ready for.... 'next summer'. Rinse and repeat. :emoticon-0114-dull:

seems absolute bullshit. Newcastle signed him for about 65m, no chance they’re selling him for 83m. They’ll want nearly double that and it’s not like missing out on CL will massively hurt their finances. They’ll arent relying on it like Manchester United for example.

plus with city taking on the prem over sponsorship rules, Newcastle’s owners will be able to pump endless money into the club in next year or two

Yeah FSG are tightarsed running the club on a shoestring .

This is untrue.

1. Fsg don't put anything in, they take downy out. (Stadium.loan of 120mil still has 2 years or more to run at 12mil annuall)

2. It's not a shoestring. It's a very rich club with a lot of its own finances that it is only allowed to spend out of current cash flow. (No debt allowed without long term return, 70mil debt for anfield road end having to be taken out by club itself)

3. Average spend on players is about 50mil. It's not nothing. It's not a shoestring. It will never ever ever replace vvd, salah or trent.

4. The reality is we will maybe win something this season and maybe not, but we will absolutely rip the team to shreds to avoid paying wages and are likely to be unable to get within an ass's roar of the same quality again.

Time to face the facts. Vvd, salah and trent are gone.

I'm unsure on your last point. I'd ask why no pre-contract (is that the right term) has been announced

FSG let the club operate within it's own means, that's all I ever wanted. If it was up to me, we wouldn't have owners so it would have to run within it's own means anyway.

They also enabled a line of credit when covid hit so it's not like they have not got an umbrella safety cushion for us even if we are just used to take out more debt

And yet, I wouldn't swap our owners for a another owners in the league.
