As much as I want to go I'm seriously considering funding next year's season ticket with mine.

    Not trolling
Don’t want a rise out of fosse
He has his view you have yours
The odds is just bullshit for me - just a number

    was it brilliant - yes
Was it a massive achievement- yes

but some on these boards cants separate obvious stuff some time - you for some reason have brought the great Liverpool into it
    No idea why
But getting a serious chat about this on here is pretty much impossible
In fact the odds are about 5000-1

if Liverpool win the league this season many will claim that it’s because teams are in transition (though I do not think we will - I actually have us third when I go through the points but that’s by the by)

just like many claim the asterisk on the year they did win it
What they did that season was amazing and had it not been for Covid they more than likely would have obliterated records
How many come on here and give that side credit ?

    so I go back to
Leicester was good - but because the usual teams were in transition
Because Leicester had no real predators
Because they cheated to be in the position (in my eyes) they were to do it (though I completely disagree with the whole ffp **** - teams should be able to spend whatever the **** they want imho)
Then that win will never be as good as many others
It’s good but not as impressive as what everyone makes out
Certainly ain’t no fairytale to me

just like you are entitled to your view - so am I

To your credit you're someone that at least acknowledges the link between spending the most money and winning the most trophies.

What are your thoughts on the financial rules? Would you be open to a cap that's the same for all clubs? or even just back to the way things were in the first place?

The point about Liverpool is that you have perennial big clubs challenging who hadn't even won it yet when Leicester had. It's totally unprecedented in the new era especially as the big clubs have been established (post 2000s?) and with the CL money.

Anyway, you obviously have your view and I have mine just as there are people who believe the earth is flat :p

    Have a good day (donga?).

They didn't cheat, they won the league fair and square.

They had a chance because the weak was weaker than usual that year, and won with an extremely well organised side. You may not like the way they played, but to say they cheated is just insane.

I think if some mad tycoon wishes to pump money intravenously to a club then they can do so
If the club goes bankrupt it’s tough
No government help - no nothing

personally I wish they just removed money from the game 100% but I know that it’s impossible so no point even harbouring those thoughts

I think every team that has won the league has bought it
    Including Leicester
    Did the make good buys
    Hell yeah
But they still bought the players

I don’t think Klopp gets enough credit because of rivalries in this country
Many thought we were screwed when we sold Ford to buy Ali and VvD
Yes he spent a lot but he had to sell players to get that

conversely Pep hasn’t HAD to do that buying one or two or even three big amount players is not the same as continually buy 40/50mil players till you get it right

I think Pep is a superb manager but trying to compare some is impossible and whilst he may not have spent mega money on one player he can just buy whoever he wants (I also don’t believe the figures we are issued that they have paid though lol)

I think Don Carlo is one of the best because he has done it both with and without money

sorry I got off topic ranting - don’t think there should be a cap
As I say if a person wants to spend spend spend they should be allowed to but if you are a fan enjoying the high you have to take the eventual low when it comes.

if ffp had teeth it could work but someone somewhere will always find a way around it
Which is where my dislike for Leicester sort of kicks in
They knew there were rules and they circumnavigated them but they all do - to make them out as some fairytale is just bollocks to me

Closest I have seen to a Roy of the Rovers type story would have probably been Wimbledon winning the cup (and that hurts lmao)
But I don't really know enough about how they rose through the leagues

if a team went from non league to win the league with the majority of the same players I would give them that kudos.

no idea if I have explained myself because I always tread the line of contradicting myself but I know what I mean <laugh>

They cheated to get into the prem imho
Couldn’t have won it if that hadn’t
    Impossible
    Again
    I repeat
What they did was good - brilliant
Just not the big fairytale it was made out to be because people think that football only exists in the prem

which incidentally you have just sort of contributed towards

Hang on, they cheated to win the Prem, and now you're saying they cheated to get into the Prem as well?!

I don't think it's worth entering into a debate this bizarre, so I'll not bother.

Let’s be honest. We only wanted to see Lesta win the league to stop Spurs from winning it.

And they ended up coming 3rd in a 2 horse race. <laugh>

Not quite understood what I have said
    Not arsed about the semantics
No they didn’t cheat the year they won it - they cheated to get there is the clearest I can say it

if they hadn’t they couldn’t have won it

I can only keep saying what they did was good
Just not the fairytale that’s all

In terms of conspiracy theories, saying Leicester cheated to win the title isn't as out there as saying the Earth's flat....but it's not far off.
