I rather like Hull as a city. It has a couple of fantastic galleries, an interesting array of churches and a superb chippy near the station. And the surrounding countryside is beautiful, as is the coastline. All in all, a decent weekend to be had.
Went there once as a kid, stayed one night in a B&B. The next morning I went to sign the visitors book and said "I don't know what to put in the comment" to the landlord. Laughing, he said "put rubbish if you like". So I wrote "rubbish". His wife went ****ing nuts: furiously scribbled out what I'd written and had a go at my mum for bringing me up badly. Landlord was still laughing. Must go back one day.
Europe is done I'm thinking of selling up and starting a resort in the Philippines: English pub with real ale, Sunday roasts (non-halal), 80s jukebox, pool table, darts, cricket on tv.
Good idea. Friendly people, relatively inexpensive and only two genders. The Western World is completely ****ed.
The Dinagat islands have only 50 Muslims in a pop of over 100,000. Dinagat out of your pram, because the majority religion is left footers.
They also like us... we never invaded them. It's a really old-fashioned place: people are very respectful, always call you sir or madam. Very religious. No swearing. There are some bad eggs though (apart from the balut): since I've known the missus two people she knows have been shot dead.
