I’m mystified by Juric’s tactics and some team/sub selections

Joe played well, but I’m really not sure in what position. Some players seem to be man marking specific players and then not
e.g. Bedders wandering up the pitch following players
At one point in an attack Bedders and Bree were the only 2 in their area
When we had the ball there was often no one in central midfield
We never got Tyler into the game
Manning was a wing back but never got down the wing
We brought TP on and then never put a high cross into him
He brought Smallbone on when Lallana was on the bench
He’s clearly never going to get ABK on but keeps putting him on the bench

Mystified I tell ya!

Yeah, there's a huge amount to question about his tactics and decisions. And if we had any realistic chance of staying up, I'd be pulling my hair out.

But instead, I'm just looking forward to next season. And the day when when the words "club statement" get published.

In the sense of ensuring that we make the right managerial appointment. That is huge. But in terms of the playing staff, I'm not sure that we need to do too much at all. I'm hugely optimistic about our chances next season...if we get the manager right.

My current shortlist is (in no particular order) Cooper, Carrick, Rohl and Mowbray. If Rosenior fancies a return from France, he would be on my list too (I was hugely impressed by him at Hull), but I'm guessing he's happy where he is.
I get the itch to change the manager again, but we need to careful what we wish for. For me the jury is still out for Ivan, he’s been given a very bad hand which now appears to be more difficult because of some players attitude etc. Not sure what it’s all about but clearly there is a problem in which his approach may have lanced the boil. With Martin all we got was the pride in their performance stuff even when it was complete tosh, this guy is not frightened to name names whilst at the same time offering encouragement to those now out on loan by praising their approach to that. This afternoon sitting next to my son, we were startled by the lack of player understanding amongst themselves at times, why this should be is for the coaching staff to sort out but cohesion was not displayed today. The line up did seem odd but again the thinking behind that maybe for reasons none of us are aware of. So I’m in the ‘confused.com’ camp but interested to understand what is actually going on or has been since RM left.

I'm pissed off because there seems to be disharmony in the dressing room, and there are too many players being ignored. Why would Archer want to stay for next season if he remains on the bench? Why loan out Adarma? We should be building the team around them. Likewise we should have got Charles back; given game time to Wood/Edwards.

It doesn't bode well at all for next season.

People can pretend like they don't care, but they will change their tune when Bournemouth put 6 or 7 past us next week.
I don’t have a problem with Charles, Adarma and Edward’s being loaned out.
Charles struggled in the championship which tells me that he would have also struggled in the Premier League, especially under RM who messed him around last season.
Edward’s was unproven, until recently, at championship level.
Adarma just isn’t premier league quality.
If they have a decent second half of the season then they rejoin the club full of confidence and could well be the spine of the team.
I think someone has mentioned that Wood isn’t seen as a marauding centre back, but he has been a bright spot in the games he has played and could be a good partner for Edwards.

No reason why it can't be done immediately after the season ends too.

We should already be speaking with candidates.

Being at a game doesn’t mean he’s involved in any football decisions. He’s still part of SR, but looks after Goztepe.

Exactly. He's still part of SR, the ownership group, therefore still indirectly involved with us. He'll still be having a say in how we're being run, operated etc.

I'm glad his main focus isn't with us, but I am very wary of him and want him well away.

Your second sentence is true. Your third is speculation, which going by all reports is incorrect too.

Stop worrying about Ankersen. Spors is here to do the job for us that he was doing previously.

It's annoying that of the four names I've suggested, three of them are currently still heavily involved in the race for a play-off place. But as the season goes on, hopefully one or two of them fall away.

I disagree that Charles struggled in the championship. He had plenty of decent performances in the first half of the season.

He had a ****e 45 at Bristol City (although everyone did and we got worse after he came off) and Martin seemed to hold it against him for the rest of the season.

Think the issue was his passing wasn't great which meant Martin always preferred others and ignored his skill set.

We should still be able to put feelers out though in a "if you're not promoted would you be interested" kind of way and then keep other options open too.

I just hope we get a manager who can actually ****ing adapt to different opposition and situations. I know it's a modern thing but this whole stick to a philosophy no matter what bollocks infuriates me massively and it feels like these are the only managers we've had for a while.

I've always maintained that the best managers are the ones that can play in different ways rather than play one style really well. Hence why Koeman outperformed Poch here despite being a far inferior coach.

I’m sure this has been asked but why did we play a back 5 with 4 fullbacks and 1 CB?

Surely 4 at the back would be sensible under the circumstances.
