Shankley and Ferguson are the only reasons Liverpool and Man Utd have been so successful, they hadn't been before then.
Everton are into the decades now and they hate everyone including themselves at this point. They probably think it's still a temporary fall from grace, but once they get over the 30 year barrier they'll start working it all out. Talking from experience of course.
