4th Round of the FA Cup and we travel to high flying (in League One) Birmingham City at St Andrews, hot off the heels of one of the performances of the season and progressing to Wembley for the second time in 3 years. Matt Donohue on the whistle for this one, nope, never heard of him either. Fully expect a second string line up for this one, maybe get some of the players coming back from injury a run out to test their fitness e.g. Krafth, Botman, Target etc. although I still doubt Wilson will be risked yet but Osula deserves another run out. Let's hope that this can be the start of another decent run after a minor blip in the league.
What I hope for: Pope, Tino/Trippier, Krafth, Botman, Targett, Longstaff, Miley, Willock, Osula/RW?, Osula/Wilson, Sanusi What I kind of expect: Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Burn, Hall, Longstaff, Tonali, Miley, Sanusi, Osula, Willock Maybe if Joelinton is fit he'll start on one of the wings?
Don't see the need to rotate massively, need to make sure we get through and we've got a full week until Man City.
It's about risk, I don't know about you, but I'd hate to lose Isak for the final over a **** game at Birmingham.
Reducing risk is about managing it The less he plays the less likely he is to get an injury, and we don't need to risk our best player at league 1 Birmingham.
No! Rest Isak and give Osula another opportunity. I agree with Pope and Miley, but also rest Botman and put Krafth in there. Also maybe bench Murphy or Gordon and start Wilson and see how long until he's in a wheelchair. Birmingham obviously ok if they're top of league one, so mix of first team and chose on the periphery.
