This entirely. I only knew a couple of Sunderland fans growing up and they were fine tbh, we'd take the piss out of each other but I do much prefer it when we're both in the top flight. I didn't want you to win the final in '92 but wouldn't have minded in 2014.
I think a lot will depend on our summer recruitment. I think we'll go in big for a striker and apparently Zubimendi is all but a done deal. We've then got players like Saka, Lewis Skelly, Nwaneri, Saliba Califiori, Timber, Martinelli whose ages range from 17-23. So this is a team that is growing together. Losing this game tonight won't change anything. We're pushing for the league and champions league this summer. I think Arteta is safe in his job, but it's funny seeing everybody else saying he's done lol.
If we could sign Saliba and Saka I think we'd challenge for the league. Hope we make some bids in the summer.
Still quite a young core to the team so I think he can push on. The problem they’ll have is the better players sticking with it rather than ****ing off somewhere for more money and more likely pots.
You lot could well still win the league or CL this season don't get me wrong, league is far from a foregone conclusion, but it feels like if you don't, just how much longer does the Arsenal board keep investing heavily into Arteta with little to show for it? Gotta be at around £600m-£700m now ain't it that he's been backed with?
Isak will not be a Newcastle player at the start of the 26-27 season. His contract is until 2028 and we wont pay him the wages he can get elsewhere even though we're reportedly offering an increase. 2026 summer we could still get big money for him and I think most fans would accept him going so long as it's to somewhere he's going to win things. That could be Arsenal if they develop in the next 18 months but my money would be on somewhere abroad personally. People say that clubs can't afford £120m+. He's the kind of player you find the money for.
