I always remember him with black around his eyes ,proper miners eyes, but boy could he head a ball ,a proper Bluebird and a local boy.
Yes Barry, one remembers him well, handsome man from Hirwaun, went to Chelsea after us and was a success....then Manchester United got injured!
Read some comments from Omer that shows a level of maturity and diligence. He was being asked about a last minute opportunity around Karlan Grant. Many managers would have jumped at it, especially as two other targets allegedly failed to be completed. We've seen last minute signings in the past that seem OK on the face of it, but fail to come off. Riza appears to be a man with a plan that he sticks to. "I don’t like to rush transfers and get something done quickly - just because something comes up"
Head of Scouting off to Flamenco in Brazil. Nice job if you can get it. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
Just reading that Omer sees Alves as a winger. Apparently Ruud van Nistelrooy agrees. Doesn't look as if he'll play in the 10 role. Hopefully we'll see a bit of him at Stoke.
I think he could be a way down the pecking order. Robertson probably, Ramsey coming back, possibly Salech at 9 with Robinson at 10. To be fair to Colwill, a couple pacy widemen, a runner up front and a driving midfielder behind might bring out more of him.
Views on the 3 new guys? Mannsverk. It’ll need some coaching to get him to adapt his playing style from the more sedate Dutch league to the pace of the Championship. Alves. Certainly showed some promise. He’s got pace but his crossing though needs some work. Salech. Can’t fault his goal ratio and having a big forward creates more space in the opposition final third. His heading needs to be worked on though.
And we've needed a bit of all 3. Hoping Mannsverk provides some drive in the engine room, Alves puts defences on the back foot and Salech unsettles the CBs. All will provide opportunities for the rest of the team. Especially if they all chip in with a few goals.
Not recent signings, but just thinking about Newcastle players and their brothers. Newcastle get Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock. We got Josh and Chris.
