I’m going to take that as Danns confirmed, and either confirmation that no bid was accepted for Watson or another signing incoming!
I’ll be very unhappy if we let Watson go and bring nobody in. Already bad enough that Danns might be off
If Mundle is coming back in the next few weeks and Le Fee is deputising on the left I really don’t see Watson playing much to be honest. Wouldn’t surprise me if we let him go without a direct replacement I’m not sure it weakens us all that much.
the fear / risk is then Mundle being out I guess if Watson has now had his head turned (big if), then we might balance it all out and think £15m is worth doing without that replacement
Heading to bed. It is what it is. Worried about injuries towards the business end of the season but equally happy we haven’t gone bonkers and disrupted our positive vibes.
At this point if they want to protect themselves rather than let him go into the final 12 months then I’d be happy to sell and loan him back til the summer. Doesn’t look like there’s anyone coming in (barring a surprise) so that’s the best case scenario.
I’m deadly serious mind that I hope Watson is able to keep his head down and perform when we need him to. No reason to think he won’t / can’t. It’s just a concern
Happy if we keep Watson. Give him plenty of game time before the end of the season, get promoted, give him a nice new deal. Happy days!
