We had a counter attack, Delap makes the wrong choice and loses the ball and it ends up going the other way and they score.

Oh dear, too weak from Muric, gifts a goal.

    A season defining moment.

Delap should've been subbed earlier to get Hirst on.

Muric is ****. Doesn't help get attacks going because he holds on to the ball too long. He's hesitant to come out at times and I have no confidence in him at all.

At least McK has tried something different and kept Delap on and brought Hirst on to try and get a goal.

    Nope, not good enough.

Ponderous at times, some poor decisions at crucial moments have cost us in a game that we really needed to get a result from.

Enciso was lively throughout, a positive to be taken there. Broadhead was also good, shame he didn't score. Muric was crap.

    Overall, just disappointed.

I think it's more that we went up a Season too soon.

Gutting to lose to them, but if that's the best we can do it looks like curtains.

Very disappointing. We were the better team, if it weren't for 2 GK errors we would've won that. Muric looking an awful piece of business.

Majority of the game we looked decent. Broadhead and Enciso linked up well going forwards. The goal was outstanding, outstanding pass and outstanding finish.

I thought particularly with hindsight it was a mistake to take Broadhead off, we created no chances when Philogene came on who looks a player shot of confidence.

We had some really good opportunities but Hutchinson, Delap and Philogene all are guilty and have been all season of running into trouble too many times.

The positive is were still only 1 point off 17th.

Southampton by far the worst team I've seen at this level however saying that they still have quality and on paper probably still got a better squad than us. Swap the GKs today though and we would've won.

No, he's not the one making the wrong choices out on the pitch.

I do think we're suffering from a lack of consistent line up so McK keeps making changes to try and find something that works but that's not working. For me, it's the goalkeeper position that's causing the most problems. Too many soft goals conceded from keeping errors makes it so difficult to get a result.

Our attackers need to start clicking, too often the wrong decision is made and nothing comes of promising moves. We also seem to be a bit static at times, players not moving to create a safe pass option or overlap to pull players out of position.

It's all a bit huff and puff, with minimal real quality.

We need a new style of play and formation. This one ain’t working for us.

All very disappointing, spells of good play and some strong individuals performances.
But this was not the freeflowing, energetic, attacking style we needed.

We should have buried them 1st half, and the ref bottled out of at least 1 red card.

I fear we will see a rather dismal few weeks. While I have no wish to rush to judgement, at end of the day, we have had too many challenges to really compete in the Prem. New faces, many injuries, several shocking ref mistakes, and at times perhaps wrong tactics.

Its not all over yet and the fat lady is not singing yet.

SD is spot on, we havent fielded the same team since September. Often changing 4, 5 players equals uncertainty and unfamiliarity.

And if I was a defender I would have zero confidence in the keeper.

The players behind Delap that are our players (not ensisco) are all much of a muchness. Physically, they are a bit lightweight - need some steel from someone. None of them seemed to beat their man on any 1 on 1 situations today. Keeper is way out of his depth. With Walton injured, I think we need either an emergency loan or start Slicker (think he will start in the cup but back to Muric for next league game). Don’t think McKenna is out of his depth, simple fact is that pretty much every team we play have better players than us

Cheers Roystonblue, I can't watch many of the games so have to rely on BBC and other sites for information.
