Just pointing out that the phrase "re-open a gap" suggests that there is no longer one.6 points can be eroded in two games. We lost more than in the tail end of the first half.
Naturally, I don't expect our rivals to not drop points between now and then... But given we play a lot of our hardest games last, we probably need a 10 point gap by late March to be mostly-safe.
Anyway, the biggest gap we had was 9 pts, so 6 with a game in hand isn't that much of a loss, and as you say, others will drop points as well. I'm not shouting the odds here, but we're in a strong position, and the notion of "relying on others" suggests that we're not good enough to do well enough by ourselves.
Put it this way, I'd rather be in our position than anyone else's.
the best part of winning our first in 30 years was that we just ****ing marched away with it, no drama (well apart from covid nearly stealing it away)!!!
