Could only sign a 3 year deal when he did. In an ideal world we’d have given him a 5 year deal in the summer but prem clubs were sniffing then and he may not have wanted to sign

we were kinda screwed by the rules that you can only give a 17 year old a 3 year deal. We’ll be in the same position with Rigg in a year, unless we can get him to renew

Would be disappointed to see Watson leave so soon. Would want a decent fee to even consider it.
Doubt we'd get both as we seem to be looking at loans with an obligation in the summer. That would mean we'd have to leave one of our 6 loan players out of a match day squad. So unless one of these is a permanent signing or we manage to do a deal to sign one of the players already on loan early we won't get both.
£5m for Watson now rather than the summer might help us invest in a player that can impact better now. Can see why we’d sell.
