Every and I mean every owner wants their money back. HCAFC like 91 other clubs and beyond is a business. There will be a few small benefactors but in the main its a money business. FFS even Delia cashed out. When he gets us to the Premiership he will be entitled to his money back because he will have got us there and unlike what had gone before, the riches he would bring beyond the Premiership cash would put HCAFC in a great place. And to your last sentence... WTF is there to criticise...? IMO we now have a club to be proud of.
Are you looking at the table upside down? We're more likely to go down than up at the moment. 4 of the summer signings are already being shipped out. Tim Walter. Hopefully we're going in the right direction now, but this season has been a car crash.
As I said, he had the balls to admit he took his eye off the ball, perhaps he got shafted in the signings by someone considered pivotal at he club, who knows. Now, if he had done nothing about it, said to Selles or whoever, 'theres no money, you have to get us out of the mire' thats a different discussion. But he hasn't said that. Your problem is, you cant see the wood for the trees... make a note of the date and look back at the season end and this time next year. If we get relegated this season I'll personally say to you... 'you were right'.
I think there's a certain irony there tbh.You went from "WTF is there to criticise", to admitting he took his eye off the ball I didn't say we would go down, I said we're more likely to at the moment.
Acun has been a better owner than the previous at least in the latter part of their regime there is no doubt. What they’ve done off the field in maintaining low prices and improving the experience in the stadium has been top drawer. On the field remains to be seen. Hopefully, he’s going to let the cards fall as they may now with Selles and Dublin as the pair of them seem to be able to run a football club. He does need to be a bit harder nosed with transfer outgoings and getting a maximum output on that front in my opinion. I’m also hoping he doesn’t oversee another huge overhaul in the summer. He has acknowledged that though and there is the bones of a squad to build on next year with Pandur, Hughes, Puerta and the two injured wingers. All that being said I don’t buy into any notion that criticism at him isn’t fair. In the same way blind praise is fair as well. He’s an owner trying to do his best for whatever motives he may have and I’m thankful for that.
I’ve said this before but if I was Acun I’d f*** off right now based on the negative drivel spouted in here in the middle of what looks to be a cracking transfer window . Every owner if every club employs **** managers at some time look at Man Utd , Liverpool , Everton , Spurs etc. what makes some of you think City’s owner should be perfect at choosing the ‘right guy’ . For whatever reason last summer was a mess and I’m pretty sure he knows it , but if Belloumi and Millar were still fit we might be half way or so and reasonably happy I think . Do those criticising actually ever choose new people yourselves ? If so you’ve either got the Midas touch and the perfect workforce , you work for yourself only , or are responsible for no one.
This is for KALMAN saying Tony Bloom doesnt do this sort of stuff... . he took over at Brighton in 2009. It took him 7 years to get them promoted. Thats 7 years of getting it right and getting it wrong. He didnt find the magic formula overnight. In 2009 alone they had 4 managers (including interims) then came the 5th in that one year Poyet who lasted longest to 2013... he sacked him after losing a Play off Semi... Between June 2013 and Hughton being appointed in December 2014 they had another 3.. Hughton was the 4th Then he found the magic wand and the last 2 managers has had have been prized away from him. He's amazing!!!@!@!@!... he's the Messiah...
Agree with all this. It's the modern way though, some people want everything to be just as they require, and there's no room for anything else. Acun, like everyone, will make mistakes in good faith. It's how you address the mistakes that sets you apart, and he looks to be building another squad with a manager capable of mounting a promotion challenge next season. Yet we have fans sniping 'but he wants his money back'. I hope one day he gets his money back, and some more on top too.
You don't have to shoot yourself in the foot though. He sacks McCann, who arguably had start to turn the ship around when the takeover completed, to bring in his own left-field manager; Shota. Shota was a disaster, didn't last long, and he brought in a more sensible choice in Rosie. Like him or not, he sacked Rosie, and brought in another left-field manager; Walter You'd have thought he'd learn from the first time around, but that also turned into a ****-show, so he sacked him and brought in another more sensible choice in Selles. Similarly with our transfer dealings, not only do we seem to get some crazy deals to/from Turkish clubs in nearly every window, but some of the deals just seem totally nuts - citing not playing Pandur as a reason for sacking Rosie and then, in the very next window, bringing in another 2x GKs who arguably ought to be first team regulars.... For all the things he's done right, there's also been some batshit crazy stuff too.
This is a Hull City forum, it's where people post their opinions on what's happening at the club. Acun has been praised for the things he's got right and criticised for the things he's got wrong, both are perfectly reasonable (nutters aside) and are what you'll find on every forum across the land. Be boring on here if we all just agreed with each other.
Saying acun is insecure which he is Doesnt mean its critcising his running if the club Lmao Tigerscave went on one So black and white
I don’t think Acun is going to go anywhere for a while. His appointment of Selles looks an astute one, in fact, if he’d gone for Selles instead of Walter I think the majority of fans would have forgiven him for his Rosenior mis-step. The situation with Tan, as unfortunate as it was, has thrown Jared Dublin into a more senior role, and he, like Selles, looks to be the perfect appointment. We can look at the 62 signings made in 3 years and rightly call it out for being excessive. We can correctly point to the short term-ism of last years approach of filling our team with loans, who upon their return left us decimated. There are also huge financial mistakes we can point at when looking at the likes of Giles and Sinik in particular. However, you can also point to lessons learnt. Our loans this season are sprinkling a bit of stardust over a very solid foundation. Alzate, Hughes, Puerta, Pedro, Crooks, Millar and Belloumi look like great bits of business. The jury is still out but the signings of Joseph, Kamara, Burstow, Zambrano and Drameh, but could yet turn out to be solid signings and I think Matazo could be the best yet (unless Louis Barry continues his rise with us for 18 months (hopefully)). That’s a lot of hits, yet people will still point at Sinik, Giles, Bedia and Racioppi to highlight how bad recruitment has been. I think if we were sat now at the start of a season we would all be excited about a promotion push, as it is, we have a table to climb. Acun will feel the same way and won’t be tempted to cash in his chips, just because some loonies on a forum think he is a bit insecure.
"the Tigers are understood to have held initial talks about him returning on a season-long loan next season, providing things work out for all parties over the next few months." nice!
