Stephen Fry is a very intelligent man - and not religious - when questioned about the existence of God he answered "what sort of God would allow children to be born with bone cancer?"

He has a point - but theologians will, not surprisingly, have theories about suffering in this world etc...

As I've said, I keep an open mind - but religion itself is a concern for humanity because it has the potential for great evil; mankind is fundamentally flawed as a species and the power that comes with mass belief systems can be, and has been, misused throughout time to the advantage of individuals or groups.

Just wondering what Matth knows that the rest of us dont, since he is near on jizzing himself at the thought of United signing this guy.
He may end up the best LB since Ashley Cole for all I know.
But this a guy who said Wilfried Zaha will be the next Cristiano Ronaldo, so I am sceptical.

I believe in the same discussion he questions why a fly would be created that laid its eggs in human eyes and when they hatch, blind that person….

a hateful god is what I think he calls ‘it’

He also says that atheism isnt about not just non belief its also about contempt for god.
In that if god does exist he is a maniac and a piece of **** and not worth our time nor our love.
That we have to spend our lives on our knees thanking him

Final match of the disguised European Super League first stage tonight. Villa v Celtic quite interesting as a win for either probably puts them in the top 8 and neither needs to play for a draw. City going out.

It's nonsense though, the depiction of God sat on some fluffy cloud looking over us all it's quite simply ludicrous and a western idea to make these scripts accessible. If there is a God who allegedly created the universe our tiny minds simply cannot comprehend such a being so to try and nail down to the point of why is there cancer is quite absurd.

This is where faith comes in, don't try and understand just have faith. If you want to of course.

lol I read that the PL could have as many as 7 clubs in next seasons CL.
The PL is winning in the coefficient league which means top 5 gets CL.
If United or Spurs win the Europa, and dont qualify for the CL via the PL which they wont, then we get 6 teams
Additionally if City win the CL but finish outside the top 5, we then get 7 clubs in the CL!!

Cant see City finishing outside the top 5, nor can I see them winning the CL, so thats unlikely.
Dont see United or Spurs winning Europa either, but you never know.

If this is what Fry is spouting on the subject then I'm calling bullshit on him being intelligent, it's a very dumb and unintelligent arguement.

But if we are unable to comprehend such a being, its because he made us with the inability to comprehend such a being, so again....maniac.
Think about it, I am gonna make a living being, that is so stupid, that they cannot comprehend their own existence, I am going to make it so that all these evil things they COULD do, if they do them, they will go to hell, and face eternal damnation, and then I am going to create in them, an almost overwhelming desire to do the exact things that will send them to hell....hehehe......****ing nuts.

I think those points are the reason why he doesn’t have a faith or belief.

I don’t care what people believe or have faith in, that’s personal to them.
