Don't agree at all like, we 'need' better depth upfront and on the right if we want to push on and go up. Isidor gets injured you're left with Mayenda who for all has been good, has proved time and time again his composure is quite bad infront of goal, relying on him for a promotion race isn't right and isn't really fair to him tbh. Roberts has Poveda for competition who hasn't managed to stay fit to play a part yet. The goal is promotion, I know some would rather stay down or take our time but at the end of the day it was KLD's 5 year plan and goal to go up too, that's the club's goal so i'd like to achieve it myself.
And what if the theoretical 'needed' better depth gets injured, do we get another? And what happens if that one gets injured? We don't 'need' anything. We're doing very well as things stand. We can construct theoretical issues, but it's worth remembering the lesson of the last playoff run, where the fanbase lost their **** over missing strikers, but it was actually a centre back injury crisis that did for us (which none of our fans were worried about in January). The goal is promotion, yes, but this idea that we NEED players is facile. We've got players.

To be honest, you're my patient zero for Transfer Addicts Anonymous anyway:emoticon-0102-bigsm

No signing ever guarantees anything, does that mean we should just never sig anyone?
No. But what are we talking about signing? What can we do in January that massively moves the needle? Would you feel hugely better off with Emil Riis coming off the bench than Mayenda? Nice enough player, but neither his output nor his performances leaves me desperate to sign him

I think we need depth on the right more than anything

maybe left depending on the timelines of Mundle etc

but other than that don’t need anything

If that was the case you wouldn't sign anybody, you have to have the depth, it's that simple imo. I don't agree at all with you and that's fine

None of that is a 'need' though. Might be nice, but isn't gonna swing anything massively. Besides, the chances are that it'll be Roberts and Mayenda out there for the rest of the season regardless with Reggie

Wish I could feel the same but we have had about 5 or more examples of Mayenda's finishing in front of goal. If we have to hang our hat on him at some point the poor lad is going to be feeling the pressure and will get absolutely battered by our fans if he can't sort that composure out.

I do agree, we usually always get something before it's done though or when it's close haha. I don't think for one second we aren't trying though, just hope we get one or two over the line
Relax mate, something will break before Monday

Not in January, no. Big changes at that point are usually a mugs game. They're mostly a safety blanket for fractious fanbases. We'll tell ourselves they made a difference, but won't see much evidence on the pitch

I do get your point, just don't agree in our situation right now. I think we do need 1 or 2. Up top and on the right. Just me though

Same could be said of isidor tbh. Mayenda gets the assits too.

I wouldnt be as worried about Mayenda being 1st choice 9 as some. I dont want to sign someone to replace Mayenda as backup. But I would like us to sign someone to really challenge Isidor and perhaps prove better. If we cant do that I would keep my powder dry. Mayenda looks a massive talent to me, if not this season then next.

Yeah, but Isidor also has 9 goals (should be 10 ffs stupid offside), so he often finds the net. I agree I'd like some proper challenge for Isidor but I just want somebody who has shown they can put the ball away in front of goal often, that way if they get a chance they are more than likely going to bury it

The only thing I’m even slightly worried about is we get an offer we can’t refuse for a crown jewel. But that doesn’t look like happening.

You never know if a premier league club will panic on deadline day tho

TBH, I am pretty confident of getting a forward/wide forward thought the door.
That’s the only business I can see coming in then shift the lads not getting a look in out, full back if I’m being greedy but fine just the forward
