The argument is that TikTok being on every single mobile device is breach of security because they send your information to China. It's not the fact TikTok is Chinese, but more so that the Chinese government itself owns parts of everything and therefore gather the information for their own uses. It's already standard across Europe that government workers are not allowed to have TikTok on their devices.
I'm still not getting it to be honest mate. What difference does it make if you or I have our data collected by China...I'd say our lives are pretty mundane and of no importance to the Chinese authorities whatsoever, surely? Ban government workers from having it, yeah i get that bit. Tbph I'm more worried where America, UK and Europe are going as a whole we seem to becoming more and more draconian.
Im Liberal mate I dont agree with bans like this at all. I wouldn't want Tiktok banned in Europe, but government officials not having social medias? 100%. Absolutely all for it. Why do I need a government worker fake account pumping out propaganda? I have noticed a lot of our government seems to use Whatsapp for private messaging one another, how much information is Meta gathering? Should we not be concerned that an American company has access to MP private messages?
Weird week. Suddenly every single economic outlook is positive, UK set to have the fastest growth in all of Europe according to the IMF. Only G7 country apart from the US to see real growth forecast upgraded. Perhaps Starmers pain before growth argument is correct
Him and Rachel Thieves took us to record lows. There’s only one way to go from here and they’ll still **** that up somehow like they’ve ****ed everything else up. Oh, and they’re still ***** sympathisers
I’m not saying he/Reeves have been perfect by any means but they’ve done some normal, sensible things that have either been completely ignored or slaughtered by a loud, influential minority. More to it than that of course. The Middle East, a low base to start from/actually trying, improving relations with the EU and plenty more.
I'm pleased Keir Starmer is building good relations with Europe, which is what I wanted, despite me being a brexit voter. I've also no problem with Starmer travelling alot to visit world leaders, including Donald Tusk in Poland....but I'll make one thing clear and Keir is playing it right, do not mention brexit, and Tusk was a **** for doing so. I will support any movements in regards to migration and visa versa for British citizens, I will support any trade moves, as long as it does not have a devastating impact on our own farmers....but what I will not accept is anything to do with Brussels, if KS attempts so, no matter how much good he has done, I will withdraw my support for him and his party...I'd go as far to say it would swing me to Reform.
I agree that's unavoidable, and I have to accept that, and do. I mean more from any efforts to rejoin as a fully fledged member, ie exactly the same way we were before.
Interesting to see the social media buildup on Monday morning and the Tory/Reform cucks all sliming up to Trump. Will make an interesting few months as Trump doesn’t deliver on cheaper energy/food for the US
