Yes I have one of these. I'm there now.
Well week two turned out to be an interesting exercise. Week 1 leader Saxonviolins didn't post any selections so automatically went down. Rainbowview had a bad day and also ended up in L 2. As I didn't know how to rank those going up or down, I put the relegated players at the head of the league below, after the lower guys had been promoted. BJM and George moved up from L2, while Ches and non starter Sparky went down to L3. To make it 7 in L2, three went up, those being Dex, Reebs and Cliffy. This is a tote win comp, but the points system was needed to separate some competitors.

Well that's the big question. Ron and I have been having a bit of a chat about the best way forward. The original idea was to have relegation every week, so it had to go back to scratch. I don't know what you guys prefer. We could make it a month long comp, with (up-down) at the end of it, or just keep things turning over on a weekly basis. If you blokes have an idea on where you'd like the comp to head, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
 
I didn't want people stuck in the botton league for ever, so weekly and about a third moving helps. Would people want to open the game up for the week? Give them the chance to log their tips on any day they choose, or just keep Saturday only?
 
Saturday only is best for me Cyc - don't usually have chance for a good old study during the week. And I need a lot of studying time to achieve my mid-table mediocrity <laugh>
 
Move up what though WF? If you start from scratch each Saturday, everyone starts off level (ie 0) on Saturday morning and Saturday evening you either have 0 points in the league above, the league below or the same league. Is that how you understand it? In fact, have I understood it correctly? If I have understood correctly then there is no problem for Cyc in deciding where those relegated stand in the new league as they all start with 0. If I've got it wrong, very sorry for complicating things.
 
What about an actual league so everyone "plays" each other week on week; the one who has the most money from the 5 selections on a saturday gets 3 points, draw 1 point, loss 0 points.

It's probably quite a lot of work to do that though!! I'm happy with how it is at the moment just thought I'd throw an idea in!!
 
Cyc/Oddy, I thought the competition was only on Saturdays and the options Cyc referred to were:

(a) start again each Saturday. Effectively the same as the Saturday competitions we used to have but each week you are deemed to be in L1, L2 or L3 depending on you position in your league the previous Saturday
(b) run the league over a month (Saturdays only) with promotions/relegations each month

I don't mind how it's run; just trying to clarify the options. I don't want Cyc to be banning me from the comp for disturbance.
