Yeah pretty much. Overall tho without any doubt living standards in the West, UK included, are very high.

It's still a privileged place to be born, we are all generally lucky.

We are very lucky to be born where we are. Places like Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine front line is the stuff of nightmares. I saw someone mention Uganda the other day, it might have been on the GC version of this thread...I'm like Uganda, isn't that the place that massacred thousands of it's own people (Idi Amin). Think we need to be very grateful for where we are, but the same could probably be said about Chinese people, I'm sure the majority lead happy lives like us, and in a country way more technically advanced.

I've not looked at it, but seeing the frame that is showing, the date for starters is misleading as it is dated 3rd Jan 2025, let's just say I suspected it's nothing as such but something that's been regurgiated from a while back. So I then had a brief look on twitter, and another clip within it was dated 28 Feb 2023, so that makes it nigh on 2 years old...so with knowing it was two years old, I googled part of the statement and found this by the Daily Malice:

The kid was autistic. Didn’t damage the Quran on purpose. Police recorded it as a hate incident. The family house was threatened with a petrol bombing and the child had to flee his home. The usual don’t prosecute the perpetrators was used so the OTT situation created wouldn’t be enflamed.

Imagine people threatening to burn your child alive and then going to apologise? ****ing LOL. I’d have rocked up at that mosque alright and thrown the first petrol bomb. Followed by the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

My actions would apply to any religion and any religious building. Cheeky cnuts.
