I know I will probably get slated for this but .... I think POTENTIALLY Puncheon could be a great asset to us, he has enough skill to be a very good player in the championship and as the season progresses the injuries and suspensions will pile up, having a player of his quality can only add to the squad surely? Having said that nothing is more important than squad morale and if he is going to upset that then I dont want him back. I don't claim to have any knowledge of what went on regarding his exit and so I cant say whose to blame. But surely he would be better of playing for us than sat on qpr's bench and we would gain a good player. So if the two parties could come together and 'make up' as it where everyone wouldn't everybody win?
I said the other day, wouldn't mind him back if he can work under nigel and stop being a stroppy twat.
Puncheon would be a better player if he listened to Nigel, but he seems to have upset Cortese (not difficult) and Adkins (an achievement).
Well it's not exactly a case of "bringing him back". His loan spell ends next month, and on the basis that it looks highly unlikely that QPR will decide to sign him permanantly (he has only made two league appearances for them so far), he'll be returning to us. My personal view on him has never changed, not once. He's a top player, who can comfortably do a good job in the Championship, and I would really want to see him part of the team again. I didn't want to loan him to Millwall, didn't want to loan him to Blackpool, didn't want to loan him to QPR. But there is clearly more too it than just his ability. Clearly Adkins and/or Cortese don't get on with him (or somethig along those lines), and unless that changes then he has no future here. But where they're concerned, I sadly think that the bridges have been burnt.
On Twitter he has received a lot of support from QPR and Saints fans coz he wasn't playing him enough. I think if he returned and apologised then NA would possibly allow him back in...?
It isn't nigel he fell out with, according to him on twitter it was cortese. Can't see the don accepting a apology.
i would love to see him back. But only on the condition he actually gets given a chance to prove his attitude before the idiots start booing him again. Otherwise it isnt fair to club or player.
Exactly fans need to get behind the players not knock their confidence, was worying the amount of negativity around st marys last tuesday
Doubt the don would get in the way of letting a useful player play if Puncheon really had buried the hatchet and was prepared to get his head down.
I was stood in the northam and some of it was unbelievable, a fair few people around me were saying guly was f****ng useless ect. and people generally being moaning gits, maybe it was just where I was sat but me and my mate were both shocked by it
