He gets extra attention due to being a Bellingham but he has been outstanding this season. Watson and Mundle are a big miss! How good did they both do stepping into the first team? We lost Clark and barely noticed due to how well Mundle did then he gets injured and Watson did just aswell (I know a few said he was weak and struggled the first couple games, I didn't see it that way he was exciting and was always looking to beat his man just didn't always come off!) Mayenda isn't the same on the wing and Roberts as much as I like him isn't the goal threat those two lads are!
Think he would be daft to go next month, developing at a rapid rate here. Hopefully will keep him until end of season....if we dont go up i think we will struggle to keep him.....if we go up the more or less guarantee of starting 38 PL games might be very tempting for his development....at that point the kid might be ready to start week in week out at the very top level.....that could only be good news for young players looking for the ideal club to develop, massively raise profile of the club
I don't think we will be a club that sells our best players in January, unless the player really pushes for it. And I see us sitting down and saying to the player we will let you move in the summer if the right bid comes in just help us finish the season as strongly as possible etc... See Jack Clarke and how they dealt with him. I doubt the Ipswich bid was quite as high as the club wanted and it was probably one they could have turned down but there weren't many at the table and they had told him he could move up.as he was at that point. That won't have gone unnoticed by other players at the club! The players all seem really happy here too! Jobe in particular seems to be loving his time here, I'm not naive enough to think he won't want to move because of that but I just think he will give us until the summer at least.
Couldn’t agree more mate, how we handle these lads leaving can also work in our favour when attracting the next lot, going to be a shame to see them move on but that’s our place in the food chain unfortunately
I didn't want to mention us going up would maybe see him stay as don't want to jinx it but I agree with all this!
Actually back onto Jack Clarke, if Ipswich want to loan him out to regain his confidence, we’re the only club they can loan him to… Wouldn’t be against bringing him back and loaning out Tommy Watson to league one
It will be a shame when they go, but also with pride watching them play at top level knowing our involvement in their development..... compare that feeling to just a few seasons back we either had to pay players just to fxck off or just wait until they were out of contract.....then shudder hearing people bring up (sorry in advance) Lee Camp....Will Grigg....fxcking Rodwell......to name just a few
Aye it’s night and day to what we’re used too haha be knackered trying to keep up with how they’re all doing, young lads should be begging their agents to get them a move here, first team opportunities, huge stadium and a mental fan base that will be right behind them from the off, what’s not to love?
I don’t think bringing him back will happen but it does provide an obvious option if there are lingering term doubts over Mundle or Watson if he’s not happy at Ipswich. One to keep an eye on.
Would be funny as **** if we got £15m then get him back on loan and he fires us up while they go down mind
I want to see Watson back in our 11, more than I would want Clarke back to be honest. Watching Watson play just brought a huge smile to my face. Such a talented lad. Last thing I would do would be to send him to League 1, he is way better than that level already imo. A little prediction from me. He will be better than Clarke and Mundle within the year. He is a fantastic prospect in my book. Dont forget we rejected bids from Brighton in the summer and they rarely sign players not on a huge upward curve.
