There are many who do not deserve help, I agree. However, there are thousands of homeless families living in hostels because they could no longer afford the increased rents. Landlords are taking advantage of the situation, squeezing the poor to breaking point. Councils do their best to accommodate everyone, yet it's obvious there are simply too many people needing housing, particularly in the cities and large towns. This government has to act and fast. Enough is enough.
Totally agree, I thought we were talking just street people. The family hostel situation goes right back to council buy ups under Mrs Thatch imo. We still haven't recovered from that yet
To put it bluntly, there are too many people in this country. The list for housing just grows and grows by the minute. The government that slows the flow to a trickle will rule for a generation. Sadly, I don't think our politicians have the stomach for the task.
Net migration is expected to fall in 2025 and beyond, but the outlook is uncertain. Visa policy changes and rising emigration of international students are expected to contribute to this. The UK has experienced similar levels of migration to other high-income countries over the past few decades, but our empirical past, has enabled a different dynamic on where our immigrants are originally from.
There aren’t too many people. Landlords make their dough on the demand for housing. There's about a million empty homes in England and they will stay that way. We cured homelessness during the scamdemic remember...until people started catching on. Bedroom tax ffs. You ponces need your own "Aye up lad Spring" tbh. Anyway you were offered the end of homelessness in 2017 & 2019 and you cried "Brexisemitism" instead. Oh well, what a pity, never mind
Utter rot. The waiting lists for schools, hospital treatment, housing and other key services are growing rapidly, which means there are too many people. How do we rectify the issue? Just let more in, you probably think. Madness personified. We should allow in the self-sufficient and the genuinely persecuted. The rest can go home and start work on improving their mother countries.
15 years of austerity is going to lead to failing services. We've been promised austerity 2 by Labour You know how we got those houses you're lamenting over? After the war we were "skint" but we BUILT. We took all our newly arrived immigrants and built social housing and the NHS My solution: Eliminate the oligarchs and build
It's great to build when you have controlled numbers. We currently have no control. The Tories utterly failed and now Labour have the impossible task of restoring order. It would be lovely to have housing for everyone, but we don't, so why exacerbate the issue by allowing 700k to enter in one year? The country is creaking. Blame it on austerity, by all means. In the same vein, I blame it on spineless, hapless politicians.
It's all about resources and humans are a resource. For better or worse. No country actually wants less people, disasters aside. Every despot in history built walls to keep people in and it wasn't for multiculturalism. Even Adolf. **** it. Kick out anyone with more than two vowels in their surname and get those lazy arsed pensioners back to work. Activity keeps you warm.
Imagine living in London complaining that it costs £3k a month to rent a tiny flat & will never own your own house . And you want infinity immigration because you don't want people to think you're racist .
Is that your latest racing certainty? People gambling on things that have no physical form and no actual ‘value’ will eventually end in disaster for all those that do not just make a quick profit and get out. FOMO is dragging Leftie brainwashed Gen Z into the Ponzi scheme so they will soon be even keener on a world where no-one owns anything because they won’t have anything in the bank.
A lot of homeless are living on the street on drugs because they were in care homes with no family, many are runaways that were raped by their step dad or beaten by their abusive parents . But yeah **** em & the elderly, just let them die to make room for a million more Abduls & Muhammed's . The tolerant left
Are private landlords really taking advantage? I think not. In recent years, private landlords had Net Zero costs imposed on them that require them to upgrade properties that they own to meet green targets. In the last couple of years of the Tories, the taxes that private landlords paid on their profits were also raised, thus eroding their returns. As surely as night follows day, when a government raises demands on the private sector, the private sector raises prices and cuts back on spending. Rachel from Accounts has already signalled more of the same so you can look forward to inflation, rising unemployment, declining public services, falling tax receipts, the resultant rise in the national debt and then total collapse when the bond market sharks move in for the kill.
Lefty low IQ ****wits **** landlords they should be taxed to **** the greedy bourgeoisie ****s Also Lefty low IQ ****wits My landlord just put my rent up by 25% & now I can't afford it , the greedy bourgeoisie **** .
