Here we go again a bad result and the world has ended. We are still top and well clear of the play offs. You can't win every game and I for one would rather lose to Bristol and Doncaster than either the skates or seaweed.

I have complete faith in Nigel to keep the bus moving forward. If we beat Blackpool next week and hammers lose at Reading we'll be five points clear.

We can't win an away game and I don't think we'll beat PFC either.

We have lost our way a little bit as our home peformances against Brighton and Hull showed the chinks and we were lucky to win them. We cannot cope with being closed down and against a side with pace that pushes it's back four high up the pitch.

We need some new ideas, a plan B, C and D, a freshening up of our squad, a bit of backbone and steel in side and to stop playing the ball backwards and sideways for most of the game.

A loss when we are at the top somehow seems worse than if we were mid-table (where most thought we'd be at start of season), but I'm being very stern with myself. We are still top.

We had more of the possession and 10 corners on another day Guly would have scored. You can't dominate every game and all sides have lean spells. I'm still confident we'll be in the top 2 at the end of the season. The Championship is a tough place to play. Just look how tight it is further down. Three wins and you go from bottom three to the play offs. Have faith in Nigel!

Completely agree. I could just as easily say that had we beaten doncaster and bristol city we would now be 8 points clear at the top and 13 points clear of third. It's just as silly to say we were lucky against hull and brighton.

As Adkins says (I think it's my favourite Adkins-ism), don't get too high when we win, don't get too low when we lose. Some of us are failing to follow either part of that quote.

I think that because, so far, the season has exceeded our wildest expectations, we're victims of our own success. Because we're top of the league and have been so for a couple of months at least the team's recent indifferent form has come as a bit of a disappointment, even if not unexpected. Even Manchester Utd slip up now and then (stuffed 6-1 on their own patch by their rivals - that won't, I hope, happen to us! <yikes> ) it happens to everyone. I don't think any team has gone an entire season unbeaten? That said, there's nothing wrong in being disappointed at a poor performance or an abject defeat.

At the end of the day, it is human nature to be happy when we win and disappointed when we lose. We're all entitled to our opinion, so let's not get too upset at people for being too despondent or overly ecstatic. Why do people feel the need to slag each other off so much these days?

At the start of the season, I thought upper to mid-table would do nicely and the play-offs would be a bonus. I think that if we do finish in the top 2 it would be fantastic, and finishing in the play-offs would still be an achievement.

It's better to lose to a team who are considered not to be an immediate threat. However it is a double edged sword, you have to make sure you beat the teams who are. IMO the confidence factor being eroded is a bigger concern.

We were not that good against hull, we looked nervous. But at least we won.

  11. I travelled up to the game yesterday and I will admit to being a not very happy bunny, especially with the long journey as well (10 hours on the road). When I got home I was knackered, irritable, short, whiny, and i did not even want to think about football let alone read any bloody match reports on the internet or elsewhere.

However, having slept on it, I am feeling alot brighter today and I am looking forward to the Blackpool game on Saturday. Resilience and bounce-backability is needed not only for the players but for fans as well.

Just got back from Doncaster as i stayed the night up there.I know overall this season you can't really complain but i think when fans have legitimate worries it's fine, that's how i assess it after witnessing the last 2 away games - Worrying! it was a bad peformance,we just didn't play as a team and that's why it's worrying.Don't get me wrong i know that we aint going to win every game but i expect the players to give their best every game and if i don't see that then i have every right to have a moan, have spent close to 300 hundred quid on the last 2 away games and if i see something i don't like i'm allowed to point it out so while i agree that people shouldn't go overboard i also do believe that people should be able to say what they feel after witnessing it at first hand.

I have to say I recover from a loss quite quickly. In the past, I would avoid all media and forums for days after a loss, but now I am philosophical within hours. May be something to do with being top of the league and having more confidence that the team will prevail in the long term.
