Makes sense as to why LON was hunched down in the middle at half time then. Fair play to him

Weird team are Bristol City, so inconsistent. They’ve got some decent players for this level though and are a threat when they’re on it. Hopefully it’s another off day for them tomorrow.

Always a bit wary of Scot Twine, another of those iffy players who seems to step up a notch playing against us

They don't seem that confident tbh ...

    https://www.otib.co.uk/topic/228088-sunderland-what-bristol-city-will-turn-up/

It must've been demoralising being pasted by the bottom team.

Portsmouth have been conceding around two goals per game but Bristol only managed two poor efforts, no goals. Portsmouth's first goal was a direct result of clumsy central defenders being asked, by Manning, to play the ball out. The press totally panicked them and they went to pieces.

The second goal was another comedy show by the defence, particularly Dickie who looks like someone trying roller skates for the first time, and the Portsmouth press caught them again. The third was just a ball rolled across the six yard boy while McNally stood and watched Laing score.

I know RLB has sat back and allowed the opposition possession in their own defensive third, and it worked against Stoke, but I really do think an energetic press is the way to beat them. They'll still have those errors in their minds, from Portsmouth, and won't want Mayenda, Watson, Rigg, etc, flying at them in packs,

Thanks again for the thread @RTB.

I think we will have enough in the tank.

Probs Luke to sit this out
    Love to see Cirkin back
Forward line...I would somehow find a space for Mayenda

A workmanlike 3.1 to the lads

C W Alcock was also responsible for the first true international football match and arranged the first cricket test match to be played in England (v Australia at The Oval in 1880). Just shows the importance of Sunderland in world culture!

Yes a good win 3-0 and back above Sheff U, Leeds play the Boro and the Boro will get a result there. we are 9 points better off this season than last from 19 games, so heading for 77-83 points.

Wrong thread but shouldn’t be missed …

… I like to think I understand our tactics but this lad clarifies it all imo.

I’ve subscribed to his channel, he should be encouraged imo. With him, RTB’s match threads, Bombshell’s TV guide, Dave’s ticket info threads, etc, this forum is as good as I can remember it tbh.

Regis Le Bris' message to Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham

    upload_2024-12-10_8-24-10.jpeg

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/24783170.regis-le-bris-message-chris-rigg-jobe-bellingham/

REGIS LE BRIS has congratulated Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham for successfully avoiding a suspension for picking up five yellow cards.…

“It’s good news because we need them,” said Le Bris, ahead of this evening’s home game with Bristol City. “They are very good on the pitch.

“They had to manage that situation properly. And I think they did well. It's not always easy, especially in the midfield. You have to deal with many chaotic situations. And sometimes you can't avoid a yellow card. I think Jobe was on the edge often, but it was good at the end.”

Rigg was struggling with a back problem at the start of the season, but the injury is now fully resolved, and Le Bris is confident the teenager can withstand the rigours of a packed December schedule.

“Riggy struggled a little bit with his back at the beginning of the season, but so far, it wasn't a problem for him,” said Le Bris. “Yes, the tough conditions show how you can react.

“Because we have many young players, we don't have experience with them. And sometimes by just living this experience, they can show that they can manage this experience very positively.”
