‘Hello Mr Jones, I’m sorry we don’t have any GP appointments available today so I’ve booked you in for a lethal injection instead. Your ailment should clear up almost instantly’

Wasn't he a comedian and TV personality before that ?

Yes, his show was pretty good. He played a school teacher who against the odds got made President of Ukraine, the "bad guys" on the show were the oligarchs. The show was about him, the underdog, fighting the oligarchs and the corruption in government.

He was so popular that people wanted him to actually be president, so they elected him.

Reminds me of that Andy Warhol quote

‘Does art imitate life, or does life imitate art’

Saw this article and i hadn't even know it was such a policy.

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2024/nov/30/war-veteran-frozen-pensions-no-10

People who move abroad have their pensions frozen and don't get their full allowance.

Probably explains why i know quite a lot of old people in HK coming back to UK frequently.
Been the case for ages .
Only applies to the old "dominion" countries iirc which leads me to the conclusion that was the rule originally and as more countries the rule was dropped but without changing the status of the original group .

Edit : seem to remember a few years ago the Australian Govt mad an official complaint about the rule as they ended up supporting our ex pats

Well here is my take - if he's deliberately set up where he knows they say their Friday prayers each week, then he's doing it for precisely the reaction he's got from you... and the phone was conveniently poised and ready ...

Any alternative scenario, then it's completely unacceptable and something should be done about it ...

Let alone that guy whose account he is posting is always posting this type of material. I'm sure if my memory serves me right, that he's one of the accounts that had to make an apology for misnaming the Southport attacker (or an apology for something). Even if he's doing it as bait, it's still posting hate to here that is the problem for me.

Anyway enough warnings have been had, shame Liverpool are playing tomorrow, banned.
