Based on any interview, I'd take Ruud over Wayne (or Gerrard / Lampard) ... as to upsetting the players - some of them need it! ... ... and Rooney may be a bigger name in terms of social media etc - but I'd trust RvNs ability to attract foreign talent better ... just my opinion, of course
I think from Fosse's perspective in the same way I would for mine, it's a big name, well known, who had credentials as a player. Afterall anyone is better than Brendan Rodgers and his Scottish credentials.
I think it’s a massive risk and that it’s more of a coup for Van Nistlerooy than it is Leicester. He’s a nobody when it comes to management and he could be landing himself a premier league job. No wonder he’s jumping at the chance. I think you should have went for someone like Potter who has proven credentials as a manager and in the premier league.
Yeah I would have preferred Potter, not knocking VN, but I think chasing Potter would have been the better option.
If I were a Leicester fan, I’d have been wanting someone with experience for the situation they’re in. I’d have preferred a safe pair of hands. Not saying RVN won’t work out, just that it’s such a huge and unnecessary risk.
Pretty sure Potter knocked back the job in summer though. So if he didn't want it then, not sure he'd want it now. Potter is waiting for West Ham or something. Ruud would have been better going back abroad for a spell and cutting his teeth a bit more, rather than risking ****ing up in the premier league. That's if he ultimately wants the United job, although I'm hoping he has a long wait for that one to come up again. I think Hamburg were considering him, and he also played there so they might fancy him back. Be a better bet than Leicester.
Nah ... give us excitement.. never minded getting relegated in the past (apart from the last time - squad was literally too good to go down ... but a mix of apathy and greedy ****ers did for us) ... because it's a good opportunity to refresh and rebuild ... will take that over turgid mediocrity and just 'participating' in the Prem, every time ...
Bundesliga 2? ... for a fifth season running!.. KDEN ... Hamburg have already conceded that they are not (at least currently) as attractive a proposition as Leicester City ...
... ooohh pedantic... Rodgers sold Schmeichel, wouldn't play Vestergaard or Soyuncu and insisted on playing a completely disinterested Tielemans and the woeful Danny Ward ... ... other options were available ...
Rodgers was a ****tard, cant argue with that! The way he treated Vestergaard was shocking. Maresca is doing similar with Nkunku right now! Hasnt made him train with the reserves yet like rodgers did with Vestergaard but still, its heading that way.
Not my favourite by a country mile - but usually does very well Internationally with the right set-up around him ...
Yet he's very, very new to management in the real world. Did ok in his four games at United, but that's pretty irrelevant really, as our other caretakers like Giggs and Carrick have shown before as they didn't just slot right into a Premier league job either. Getting Hamburg sorted and maybe promoted looks better for him than going to Leicester and you still get relegated.
Happily get relegated with him tbh ... think he'd be given time to come back up and backed in the transfer market ... as whoever comes in will be in January too ... I 'feel' he would get us playing on the front foot and that would get the fans on board ... Coopernicus was the most negative manager I've seem at ours since the absolutely dreadful (football entertainment wise) Gary (don't venture over the halfway line) Megson ...
