Yellow for me. Looks bad but not excessive force. Certainly not enough to overturn on field decision.
He is in the air. His weight lands on Palmer’s ankle. His leg even buckles from the impact. Sorry, but reckless.
Reckless, uncontrolled, no effort to play the ball, through the back of the player, and potentially very dangerous indeed.
There are two criteria for that to be a red card: 1. Excessive force or brutality - not for me. 2. Endangering the safety of an opponent - maybe but IMO the VAR was right not to recommend a review. Wouldn't call it clear and obvious.
Possibly but not clear and obvious. One referee's opinion will be different to another here and I don't think VAR should be intervening here.
Well this is the problem with VAR as I've said all along. Clear and obvious is itself subjective. For me that's almost as clear as they come in terms of endangering an opponent. Interestingly I was looking at a Leicester forum earlier and the consensus there was that they were very lucky.
I have just seen some of the other unpunished Leicester fouls. **** me this game was not well reffed.
Coming in from behind, no realistic attempt to get to the ball, making contact with studs up before his full weight lands on the back of Palmers ankle. Should've been a straight red to anyone with common sense.
Looking like we'll be 6 points adrift of safety come the end of the day. 7 including our poorer goal difference. Let's be honest, we're done.
I kind of want us to at this point, may as well go down with a laugh of being the ****test PL team in history
