People should petition their MPs on this issue. I have.

I’m going direct to my MP, rather than via a campaign group, as I have no idea how she (a Lib Dem’s) will vote, although if the press is to be believed it will be in favour.

Have a bad feeling about it though.

More self-service checkout machines and fewer staff to save on Employers’ NI? Not so good.

Increased prices for customers? Not so good

Less profit for exploitative employers, who could easily absorb the increase. Good.

I expect the bullshit pension funds argument next.

It won’t be a lower profit, I suspect that the employees and the customers will cover the cost.

    What pension fund argument?

Normally, when anyone suggests that massive companies should have their profits curtailed in any way (like paying a bit of tax), those of a right wing persuasion suggest that this shouldn't happen because pensions funds invest in them and this could harm pensioners. Just another bullshit 'don't tax wealth' argument.

Lack of understanding rarely inhibits political argument.

Pension Fund investment strategy depends on a whole host of considerations, not least the Maturity of the Scheme, Liability Matching etc etc.

Farmers, what the ****? So the beneficiaries of your multi-million pound estates might have to pay half the inheritance tax that everyone else would be liable for.

    Boo-****ing-hoo.

Sleepy Joe finally gives Ukraine the opportunity to waive the big stick and assist hem maintaining their Kursk incursion, and hopefully wipe out the 10,000 porn addicted North Korean troops shoring up the Russian presence there. On the subject of Bden he looks really good and relaxed at the Brazil Summit, venturing out into the rain forest.

Who needs an Oval Office when you have a nice signing table in the Rain Forest

You genuinely want 10,000 men (and presumably all the Russian men who have been explicitly recruited/press ganged as canon fodder) who have probably had miserable, brain washed, lives, to be ‘wiped out’? These are real human beings, none of them created this situation. They are dupes, patsies, victims. Want to revise your post?

Great that Biden doesn’t have to take any consequences for his decision, because he’s gone.

Most russian troops sign up voluntarily. If they're not stopped they'll rape/murder innocent Ukrainians.

    Collectivise them now!

Hard to feel sorry for people who moan on about how hard their lives are, how little money they make, how fragile their mental health is and who simultaneously want to condemn their kids to the same miserable life through inheritance, and who just assume that their offspring will want to follow in their muddy footsteps.

The likes of Dyson and Clarkson had bought farm land specifically to avoid inheritance tax. Despite Clarkson's cuddly TV programme, I don't imagine he actually spends that much time on his farm, and I'd be surprised if his children would want to take it on. It's just 'tax planning' and Clarkson is now whining about this particular loophole being partially closed.

Still, Nick Griffin thinks he's right.
