Just came across this old photo of the Bob Bank. Spent many a Saturday afternoon leaning over the barriers having a smoke and a laugh with my mates. And every now and then we watched some of the football.
Best memory? Had to be the Leeds cup game. Best atmosphere ever.
There was a Leeds supporter who had somehow got a ticket and was in front of us, who decided to celebrate when they scored. Needless to say he was soon escorted to the away end for his own safety!

Yep, used to love Ninian Park even though it was a bit of a s#ithole....
Used to stand under the TV gantry with my mates (or as close to it as we could get) when I first started going regularly as a younger whippersnapper (the crowds were pretty low TBF so it wasn't hard to get a spot <laugh>).

When the changes were made later on and the seats installed, I used to enjoy a pint and the atmosphere in the Bob Bank "village"... The CCS still isn't a patch on Ninian for atmosphere, though there have been a few occasions when we've had the place rocking in fairness, just not quite often enough...

Anyone recall going into the Bluebirds club left of the entrance to the Bob Bank for a few beers before the game?

Yes I frequented the Bluebirds club and was particularly fond of the mechanical one armed bandit that I used to feed sixpence pieces. It was also open during the evenings and I recall spending my 18th birthday there.

So, not the most exciting of topics in many respects, but with the deafening silence coming out of the club right now about anything of note......

What are we all expecting, thinking, hoping for?

We've had confirmation that they are going to do something with the club crest on the shirts for next season.... I dread to think of what some 'just out of uni' PR/advertising person will come up with but personally I'm hoping we either use the City of Cardiff crest a la the 1927 cup final or we revert to the simple Bluebird in a white circle...

I'd also like to see a renaming (even if only temporarily) of the stands in the ground after prominent figures in the club's history (Ninian stand can stay as is)... Maybe with at least one section dedicated permanently to Whitts?

Getting some of the old players to come back for visits would also be good (I know they've done that before and now have an ex-player 'committee' thing going on).

Lastly, some kind of exhibition on the history of the club, kit history, major points in time, trophy wins etc. and evolution of Ninian Park that fans could visit (preferably free of charge) would be nice...
Well that's the way to celebrate.

To be fair, thinking about it, we should have expected relegation this year as soon as they termed it a centeneray season...

We got relegated from what is now league 1 back to league 2 in our full centenary season in 1999-2000.

Fingers crossed that our pathway from next season follows suit again as we then went on to experience 2 promotions in 3 seasons :emoticon-0142-happy
