Who would you go for? I’m just glad that Carsley isn’t going to go through all the **** that goes with the job.
I get the impression Carsley likes to coach but didn't need/want the press invasion that goes with England.

He has done a great job with the Under 21's which set up Southgate's selections for the last 2 competitions.

All that was forgotten within 90 minutes of a pointless match against Greece.

The newly appointed Chelsea reject will take the flack for 12 months before jacking it in and moving on.

For me this doesn't show any progression of planning by the FA.

As I’ve mentioned on here before I used to see quite a bit of Carsley as our sons played in the same team 18 years ago. He’s a lovely, thoughtful, quiet man and I feared for him on the publicity side as soon as he stepped up. The knee jerk response to him doing what we all wanted - playing all the allegedly ‘great’ attacking players in what was obviously an experiment - shows what a **** job this is.

Tuchel only has an 18 month contract to the next World Cup. If he doesn’t get us there your 12 month prediction could be spot on.

Mrs RTID, not exactly a football fan, was discussing this with me as she'd heard a rant from a fella who said he'd prefer his Mum over a German for the English National Team!

It's bit strange. To win anything, you have to (usually) beat the Germans and he will be conflicted, no matter how objective he tries to be.

Just realised that the World Cup season ticket included the France v Uruguay game at White City....

My wife's brother passed away last week and she found this amongst his stuff. A 1966 World Cup season ticket envelope with tickets for all Wembley games!

If you don't mind me asking has it got a receipt/price paid for the ticket?

(not that I have a clue what "3 and sixpence" actually means!)

All the group game seat tickets included were £1, the QF seat was £1-15s (£1.75), the SF seat was £2-10s (£2.50). The standing ticket for the final was just 10 shillings (50p).

Tried to upload a picture of all the tickets but it wouldn't work.
