I think we are playing players in natural positions though? Aside from Drameh, who started out of position yesterday? I can also understand Drameh starting as he’s shown far more than Giles has at LB.
Drameh is fine against left footed wide men because he is very right footed. He struggles badly against right footed wingers (or two footed players) because of a lack of a left foot. It might be better to play Coyle on the left and Dramah on the right if Giles is out of favour.
We signed Mehlem, palmer, Zambrano, puerta, Alzate, and brought simons back into the fold, while already having slater and omur to fit in. 8 players, not quite the 10 I cited but forgive the exagerration.
I don't see several of those as 'no 10's'? We needed to bring central midfielders in which is what happened.
Good shout. Coaching a side to play a certain way and be comfortable doing it are arguably two different challenges. Despite the growing hatred towards him and his style of football whenever you watch City these days you tend to ask yourself whether or not Walter’s has enough players good enough both technically and mentally throughout the side to play the way he wants under pressure or is everything down to the fact the wrong man was brought to club in the first place. I actually think it’s a bit of both. UTT.
Its a mix of both At hamburg, his squad was in the top 2 or 3 best teams in the german 2nd div Im sure if walter was manager of leeds this season, theyd look a lot better Also a flaw with say rosies system That the top players, move the ball and see things faster, championship players, take that bit more time to control the ball, and move it on So you end up with a lot of frustration in breaking down teams Adaptation is needed on all fronts at this level to get promoted
Don't understand how people think that the building from the back with Walter is the same as under Rosie. Not saying I'm a fan by any means but it's very different. Rosie was all static side to side and backwards. It was turgid. We forget how often Greaves would be waving a frustrated hand to encourage some movement. Walter's is pass and move into space. Might take a couple of attempts but when it works we do get into promising positions. We're just not doing enough to make the most of it in the final third. What I don't like about Walter's version is the outlet is often to a wide play in the middle third, facing our own goal. It's like you're expecting a powder puff winger to do the job of an old school target man. Similar issue with Seri under Rosie. They're not strong enough, get done and we find ourselves in deep ****.
in our last 3 games the 5 players who made the most passes for us are.... in no particular order jones. drameh. coyle. hughes pandur. those 3. in the last 3 games, might look at more later.
