The team is actually called Wycombe Wanderers but I'll accept that.

OK Which is the only team to reach the semi finals of the Amateur Cup, the FA Trophy, the Carling Cup and the FA Cup?

Good try Saints. A major clue would be that the team actually knocked Wimbledon out of the FA Cup in one of the most exciting cup ties in history.

I lived in HW as a young lad. When I got married (first time) I moved to Downley, then Hazlemere then, with my second wife moved to Bellingdon (between Chesham & Tring). Then we moved nearer to you at Heath & Reach for a while before moving to France 5+ years ago.

Did they have a famous game against Coventry or Liverpool? Or was Coventry the final with spurs....

They lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the FA Cup semi final at Villa Park and drew 1-1 against Chelsea in the semi final 1st leg of the Carling Cup semi final. With a bit of luck they could reach the dizzy heights of League 1 next year.

    I think you mean league 2 ;)

    So was it Liverpool?

My next guess is Wycombe... I remember them getting to the semis of the FA cup under Sanchez.

Bellindon End Farm? The Bull at Bellindon? The recreation ground? Don't think there was anything else there. A cracking bird on the main road near the Bull. Maybe that was it.

No Saints. I meant League 1. They are in League 2 now.

Accrington my foot. That's another fine mess.

They used to have live music at the Bull on Wednesday nights until the pub changed hands. Might be before your time though as that was in the 80's.

Christ, I've just realised I lived there for 22 years. Unbelievable. Time flies. Must be nearly time for me to go.

It's about 7 years since I lived in Bellingdon. Small world.

I'm turning in now. My concentration is waning; just bloody lost at Hearts, and Spider Solitaire <steam>
