Not so sure I believe this guy, Spoons seem to keep the price down to silly levels but they are a huge company but then my local keeps the price of craft beer down to £4 so if that goes up to £4.50 then it's okay with me. Where are these pubs charging £8 a pint getting their figures from?

He's chatting ****. The average pint of draught excluding Spoons is around £4.40 - £4.80 outside of major cities. If we then add in the 40p he claims that makes it £4.80 - 5.20, I would expect most pubs to sell it at a fiver. Spoons will charge you £2 or less for most ales.

Like you say, £4.50 is fine.

We've been watching the arrivals at a Philadelphia court, ahead of a hearing over Elon Musk's cash giveaways to registered voters, which was scheduled for 10 am ET (1400 GMT).

District Attorney Larry Krasner, who filed a lawsuit against the billionaire earlier this week, arrived a short while ago.

SpaceX and Tesla owner Musk has been ordered to attend in person, but so far we have not seen him show up.

There won't be cameras in court, but we'll keep you posted with what happens next, whether or not Musk appears.

People should and do avoid places charging over the odds for beer these people (like that landlord) moaning about the lack of people coming into pubs are their own worst enemy and they are ripping off their visitors. My local is busy in every day that it's open and nobody complains about the price of a pint.

Gammon TV channel GB news fined £100k for breaking impartiality rules

Ofcom fines GB News £100,000 over impartiality

Ofcom has fined GB News £100,000 for breaking impartiality rules with a programme featuring the former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
He appeared on the TV channel on 12 February 2024 as part of a one-hour current affairs special that included a Q&A session.

The media watchdog said Mr Sunak was given an "uncontested platform to promote the policies and performance of his government in a period preceding the UK General Election".

But GB News chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos said Ofcom's decision to impose the fine is "a direct attack on free speech and journalism in the United Kingdom"

I think £4.60 is the most I pay, if I don't use a Spoons. My biggest moan are some of the chains that have restaurants, avoid like the plague or stick to lager, pretty high probability in the chains of getting an ale of some description that is off. Look at what the punters are drinking before ordering to get an idea of what is being regularly pulled.

Some places these days will have different beer prices dependent on whether it's midweek daytime or an evening weekend.

I hardly ever go in pubs these days, but last summer I met my mate in his local off Holloway Road, on a Wednesday lunchtime. Craft beer at £7-8 a pint and the place was full. Full of ****s, obviously, but these ****s didn’t baulk at the prices getting charged.

Why should he bother? He's untouchable. Trump is just going to pardon him if he gets found guilty of anything. And yes, unfortunately, Trump will be the next President, he already controls the Supreme Court and already has lawsuits set up in every single swing state so that he can manipulate the result via supreme Court no matter who actually wins on election Day. We've seen in recent years a shift that the supreme Court is willing to be partisan and act in Trump's interest even if goes against the accepted existing law.

    Unfortunately, all correct.

Musk knows that his buddy Trump will protect him. And I think Trump is going to win this election anyway. I hope I'm wrong, but that's my feeling.

And like you say, he'll use the supreme court to manipulate the result if it doesn't go his way.

Yeah, I have no clue who will actually win, but it doesn't matter as long as it's close enough that one state makes the difference and supreme Court can be called in to rule out some voters in that state.

Temple Bar in Dublin gets more expensive as the night goes on.

Don’t see the issue though really. Some restaurants will have a different price at the weekend or peak times.
