The teams that get three points when they’re playing poorly are the teams that finish up at the top. Based on yesterday, you’d imagine Sunderland are going to be up there.

We matched them (or they matched us?) for long periods, but once they scored it never looked like any other final result.

Theyre not that good. Same can be said of Sheff United, maybe not so much Leeds. This is going to be the frustrating thing. Last season was always going to be hard to get out of this league, from what ive seen this season, (not just our games) this season was there for the taking.

Still maintain anyone who finishes above Burnley will go up auto though.

I'd say the point is to occupy their defence and free up space for someone else to receive the ball. We have scored goals from it this season so there is a clear purpose. It's just a question of whether it's worth the risk, and whether we can mitigate the risk without losing the reward.

Problem is it hardly works as the box is crammed full of players. A shot isn't go to get through that many legs, bodies etc
 
I'm with the let's see where we are at the end of November club. The team is improving although still living dangerously at the back and over playing it on the wings. When will we see a killer forward pass, more shots on target? This is a decent team on paper and with not many stand out teams this season there's still time to push for a top 6 spot. The dream is achievable, stick with it.

I don't think the current League table or current form tells many lies at this point in time.

We more than matched them at times yesterday but we lacked a cutting edge and a finish at the most crucial of times.They,on the other hand,study our set-pieces,charge out,and get a half chance because of our gung-ho corner routine...

Fine margins in games can dictate the result and the result was they took all 3 points!!

Maybe they can't sustain their level of form for the full season but it won't be due to the lack of putting in the effort to win a game against a team that lacked the fire power and nous to press home 3 v 2 chances.

We squandered some good chances yesterday and got caught out with a classic sucker punch,until that changes we're also-rans and currently sit in 14th place on 12 points.

I think we should also acknowledge that whoever has the job longer term the recruitment is looking better by the week.

You can add Hughes and Puerta to the list of those showing great promise.

Belloumi, Millar, Zambrano, Drameh definitely in that category. Jury out on Kamara and Burstow so far and while Bedia and Mehlem haven’t set the world alight they are solid squad additions.

It’s too early to judge Palmer, Jao Pedro and Alzate but all have shown something in their limited match time.

Having seen numerous sides below the Premier League try to build from the back, I would argue we are one of the better teams at it.

Our issues haven’t been passing about at the back, more to do with a vacated midfield when we lose possession.
 
I have a feeling Mehlem will be Walter’s blue-eyed boy like Allsop was to Rosenior. I don’t think Mehlem is bad. I actually think he’s a tidy player but he’s incredibly frustrating at times. We’re a lot more counter-attacking under Walter compared to last year and we can create a quick 3v3 or 3v2 with just a couple of quick passes but I’ve seen Mehlem **** these up more than once due to poor decision-making. I don’t think he’s an upgrade on Tufan, who he replaced like-for-like.

Not will be his blue eyed boy - he already is. At the risk of repeating myself I don't think he's any better than Greg Docherty

I really like the look of Palmer to be honest. Think he offers quite a lot going forward, particularly a bit of nous.

Omur was largely not that great in the chances he has had. Think it’s said a lot he’s not been even in a matchday squad as of late
