Missed the start of the game as I was out, just caught up. Nice to see Rodgers **** it up Similar to last week where the offence had no clue in the second half, at least this week the defence didn’t get battered as well
Bye week next, usually not a fan of early bye weeks as makes the run in much harder. Hopefully can use that time to figure out what other teams are doing in the second half to nullify the Vikings in the second half
Tbf that drive was either gonna end in a touchdown or a turnover, don't think there was any other possible outcome! Had it been a touchdown I'm not sure how long we'd have had left. Thank goodness it didn't come that. Woo I went mad when that interception came in. Great atmosphere, there was noise on every down and the third downs got very loud, and that last drive it was crazy loud on every down
Just got back. Our defence is just incredible. I think offence got harder 2nd half with the rain continuing to come down. But again, we were playing with the lead so the onus was on the Jets to score.
Also, hopefully Jones isn't badly hurt. Our running game (and offence in general) dried up after he was out.
Having watched the Baltimore and Detroit games yesterday it's pretty obvious to me that right now, those are the two outstanding teams in the NFL. Vikings have been great, but the Jackson and Henry duo is plain scary for any defence and Detroit have the best RB duo in the league, plus an elite WR and TE. Fortunately Vikings don't have to worry about one of them any time soon! On the other hand, we meet the other in a huge clash at US Bank Stadium on Sunday (hopefully it will be the Sky game). On the plus side, their best defensive player who is leading the league in sacks is out injured.
Maybe I should have checked his injury before posting this - he broke his leg last night, out for the season. Ouch.
Yeah I was thinking yesterday that despite the Vikings great start, they could effectively be last in the division if they lose on Sunday. The NFC north is very strong this year, which everyone predicted, minus the Vikings being any good
I don't think anyone foresaw it being this strong though. The 4 teams have the 4 best net points in the entire league!
Btw @......loading...... , wanted to hear about my date that I mentioned last month using the fun medium of NFL metaphors? The match started off pretty well, got some good yardage and some points on the board. Early in the second quarter, we threw a pick six. After that we recovered, got a few field goals. Come the fourth quarter, the opposition started running down the clock. Our final drive, we made a decent 30 yard pass to get down to the red zone We got down to the 3 yard line with 5 seconds left on the clock and no time outs and a touchdown to win, we spiked the ball and ran a rushing play.... and the defence held strong. Oh no Then we posted the result on the social medias, at which point we were inundated with comments referring to us as 'chokers' and the like. Make of that what you will.
This is reminiscent of a track from 'Bat Out of Hell' (Paradise by the Dashboard Light, I think), although on this, rather than American Football, the 'action' is played out as a Baseball game, until it changes to 'Stop Right There'. A brilliant album, and track
Looked on the Sky TV guide. While they haven't actually announced the game yet, I think this is a visual clue!
Another trade... the Houston Texans have traded Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings, in exchange for two 2026 draft picks: a 6th round pick (conditional) and a 7th round pick (conditional)
