Thing is Pep would never have gone to Liverpool Not that it matters to Pep or anyone for that matter But for me he has been very very clever in the clubs he has chosen do I think he is a very very good manager - absolutely but he isn’t in the same league as Fergie, Jose, Carlo, Clough - he just isn’t The man has never built a team - and has never experienced what it’s like to have to live with your poor decisions when you buy a player. The resources he has had available to him throughout his career have served to make him look ruthless - I don’t believe that is the case. I would love to see him prove what he can do by going to Carlisle and bringing them through the leagues but he just won’t - and why should he. I would add that his time in Germany was interesting - he didn’t stay there long - inherited a treble winning team and - by their standards struggled - comparitively imho Just my opinion on him.
but Carlisle have been through the leagues, it has been done and were top of the Frist Division (Premier League) briefly in 1974/75 I even remember it lol, and I couldn't even tell you who that manager was, could you without even googling it? did Klopp take Liverpool through all the leagues, no, he had a ready made club in the Prem and left with the Mickey Mouse cup.
Klopp turned a comatose giant of the game regularly finishing 9th and 12th back into the the mighty kop competing for everything all the time again. Worth more than 10 trophies tbh . Pep has never and could never do that at any club
A = Most Liverpool fans #facts B = Actual facts They are mutually exclusive events. It is what it is.
Regularly finishing 9th and 12th? You've not finished lower than 8th since the 50s I actually agree with your general point but making stuff up doesn't help your argument lol.
Yeah I was talking top flight. Their last top flight finish lower than 8th was the year they were relegated.
Ferguson and Clough would have been sacked well before their most noteworthy successes today. It’s a completely different skill set taking Carlisle up the leagues to consistently keeping a top side at the very top for years and he’s done it twice. Is McKenna at Ipswich a better manager than Guardiola if they stay up then do ok next season? Probably not but it’s comparing the bloke who owns your busy local Italian to the CEO of ****ing Dominos.
C'mon, this is Sucky, he's proven time and time again that he knows absolutely **** all about football.
Does any club actually have a first eleven these days, I know my pub team don't - I doubt Pep has a first eleven even. The days of eleven players numbered 1-11 with one on the bench are long gone. Back in my olden days you'd see exactly the same players week after week, these days the team put out are done so to counter the the tactics of the opposition, and the likes of Liverpool have at least 24 squad players, pussies.
It would be fun if City got relelgated to L2, even my gaff would get to see the master at work then. Not many modern managers I'd be interested in seeing these days, all the best ones have long gone from the game. I'm actually trying to think if there is any current manager I'd like to see, nope can't think of one. Suppose Jose would be a laugh as he's abusing the officials and maybe the guy at Real Madrid mr eyebrows. Don't think the game has any great characters anymore. Probably because managers aren't allowed to physically assault fans on the pitch anymore lol.
Would be funny but pep would drop city in a seconds if another city came along offering an even easier job than he has currently
