Yes it was (but not just him) ... Carsley is simply following on with the fundamental problem that has characterised England for decades ... that problem is that we resist picking the 'best team' in favour of trying to shoehorn in the best players from the biggest clubs ... Tonight was classic - we have a proven goalscoring centre forward on the bench ... but instead we start with Palmer, Foden, Bellingham, Saka and Gordon ... because they are 'the names' at their respective clubs ... and yes, playing well ... but ignoring the fact that they all play with excellent (even Chelsea with Jackson this season) centre forwards at those clubs ... So what we end up with is an unbalanced team with some players getting in each other's way ... Southgate's last tournament was one of the worst in that respect ... we may have got to the final, but only because the draw was hugely in our favour ... we were not the second best team in that tournament by any stretch of the imagination... We need a good tactician ... one not overly influenced by 'stardom'...
Who really cares about a nations league game or a friendly. GS is second only to Sir Alf for results. Carsley is using a free hit to have a go, see what options he has. Sadly, players and the short time to get a swayed working went against him it seems.
I was really disappointed when we played Palace that Dean Henderson got no abuse for worse than this. How refreshing of a young footballer to ask for consent.
yeah, there's no date on it either, could've been a year ago. An he's 21 yr she's almost 18yr old, which is almost 2 years older than the legal age for consent, so I'm failing to see the problem.
I've clearly missed something here....who's this, I assume a player, and what's the claim....or in other words why's someone messages getting put online. Genuinly don't know mate....so just trying to understand beyond what the message is telling me.
Jarell Quansah. Plays for Liverpool occasionally though you wouldn’t recognise him if he walked into your front room. Going to be world class though.
I just googled him, age 21, so why people posting his private messages about social media, the message suggested the girl was 17 and 18 in three weeks?
Because it’s 2024 so this is the world now. We don’t know if anything happened beyond this and clearly from the messages she looks older and he’s reluctant to progress whereas she’s the one pushing it. On the long list of football sex offences it’s near the bottom for me. I do think arguably there should be a sliding scale of ages of consent as in theory a 16-year-old could shag someone of 51 but not 15. Maybe 17 and 21 is ok albeit a tad odd. 18 and 21 definitely is. All a bit heavy for a football thread on a Friday morning and now I’ve typed that out I realise I don’t care anyway.
Yeah agree, all a bit heavy for a Friday morning, I'm guessing the trolls on twitter have nothing better to do with their time today. If a 17 or 18 year old wants to meet up with a 21 year old, that's both their business and no one elses, apart from the parents maybe...but aside from that nowt illegal about it, not a sexual offence either unless the law as changed, which I'm guessing it hasn't. Clearly no boundaries anymore either if they think it's ok to plaster people's private messages all over social media, fooking glad I'm not young anymore couldn't be dealing with all this bolloxs at their age.
I do this sometimes, start typing something out and then half way through realise I don't even care. Then you decide **** it, post, then someone like Fosse replies and you're stuck in a mindless debate
It makes no sense to me, you'd think they'd at least hold it at the ground of past winners. Got to be brown envelopes exchanging hands for this to happen.
probably partially because it will be a fairly spectacular setting but not sure they have considered how the security checks will be done in such an enclosed space
