Tugenhadt gone. Cleverly leading. What a mess.

We will be waiting for an ice age for a new dawn at this rate.

Nearly a thousand boat people in one day. Starmer and Dobbin have got this immigration lark cracked.

Couple of weeks ago Starmer was saying how keen he was to close the north south divide. Suppose this HS2 cost is helped from all the north east projects which were cancelled recently because “ there’s no money “

Makes sense to do that bit mind. There's no point in having a high speed railway that goes to just outside somewhere. Would be good if they had a look at the bit north of Birmingham too though.

Cohesive policy with joined up thinking is not something any Govt.has remotely exhibited in living memory.

Well, the week of the budget is finally here. I have a feeling come Wednesday there’ll be many a labour voter who had plenty to say leading up to the election that will suddenly lose their voice, if they haven’t already.

Haven’t heard anyone argue with that.
It seems labours plan is to make it worse and then fix it to where they started from<laugh><laugh>

It’s actually comical how bad they are, but we already knew this. Divide and conquer over the next few years, keep the civil servants/public services on side with ridiculously generous payrises knowing they’ll have the votes of millions.

Dear me, comical wouldn't have been a word I'd have used to explain the previous tory ****-show. At least we know where our support lies :emoticon-0148-yes:

The £2 to £3 bus fare rise is a mistake imo. Up here, having £2 each way meant the operators had to reel in their day tickets, currently £4.50 locally and their local weekly, currently £14ish. Prepare for fare rise galore.

The bus fare thing is another example of why we are where we are. Sure there are people who rely on it, but there will be many who have benefited from it but don't need it (same as WFA). The days of mass-giveaway are over and that's not a bad thing, the challenge is how do we protect those that need help.

Hmm, I dunno. With constant price hikes, even 'cheap' things have started becoming expensive. Some of these 'cheap' things, like bus journeys, have to remain cheap. Otherwise, life becomes miserable if you're working and your wages are gone on the basics. Working has to be a better option than anything else. I've seen a number of economists saying that the only way to improve things is to stimulate growth. I don't see how reducing the spending power of working people will do that, but that seems to be what Labour's policies are designed to do.

Does anyone else think Wes Streeting could be Keir Starmers love child?
